A typical family today consists of four or five members, including the parents. If I were given a choice, I would prefer to be in a big family. This is because I would be a happier person. My siblings can be my playmates both at home and outside. I will not be so lonely. On the other hand, being the only child will make feel lonely. I have to look for playmates outside of my home. Moreover, my older siblings will help me in my studies if I have problems. Besides, I learn to practice the give and take attitude with my brothers and sisters. This helps me develop a caring and understanding character during my formative years. In contrast, a person who is raised from a small family tends to be selfcentered and selfish. At home, he or she does not have to share their things with others. An only child might be spoilt for he or she might expect others to give in to him or her all the time. I know that in a big family, the parents attention for their children has to be divided among all of them. But that does not mean that they lack parental love. In fact, when parents give equal attention to my siblings and me, it promotes a sense of fairness and equality. This is a quality I can always carry and practice in my life. Despite having to share my things with my brothers and sisters, I still think that life is happier and meaningful in a big family. I am not lonely, I am a better person and life is certainly more purposeful. Appendix 3 1. The cat ate the fish. 2. Everyone worked hard. 3. The police caught the thief. 4. Here is what I learned at the campaign about how we can save water at home and in school. One way to save water is to avoid wasting it. Turn off the tap when you have finished washing your hands. Dont leave the tap running when you dont need the water. A lot of water is wasted this way. We should also repair all leaking taps and pipes in our homes and other buildings. People are not aware of how much water is wasted due to leaking taps. When washing cars, it is better to collect water in a bucket and then use a scoop to pour on the car. Using a hose to wash the car wastes a lot of water. It is very important to follow the Dos and Donts of Saving Water because we need to save water. We need water to live. If we dont have enough clean water, we will suffer. Therefore, it is the duty of every person to save water and not waste it. Appendix 3 Accept any suitable and relevant answers. Appendix 4 DOS Do turn off the tap when you have finished washing your hand. Do repair leaking taps. DONTS Dont leave the tap running when you dont need the water. Dont use a hose to wash the car.
