He is excited because this is his chance to get something to eat for his sister. The other people's point of view: Bombs are falling and their houses are burning. They are frightened and running for safety in the shelter. Seita's point of view: Setsuko is so sick that she fell down outside the house and couldn’t get up. Seita brought her here so that the doctor could help her and give her medicine. He can’t understand why the doctor won’t help them. The doctor's point of view: He says Setsuko doesn’t need medicine, just food. He doesn’t try to help them. He has other sick people to see, so he sends Seita and Setsuko out. Setsuko’s point of view: She is feeling sick and scared. She doesn’t want to be here. She just wants her brother to take her home and stay with her.
