LOGO DESIGN

A selection of logos designed for various companies.

Designed for a architectural surveying company. The previous logo consisted of a blue circle and the initials AJUK. The use of dimension lines and technical apparatus within the design made the logo more visually interesting and increased its relevance to the business it promotes.

Top: Designed for Learn To Live Therapy - a cognitive behavioural therapy centre.

Middle: Museum logo designed for a new business venture. Brief specified vibrant but formal.

Bottom: Designed for a betting company that focuses predominantly on horse racing.

Logo design for Pond at Four Seasons. The brief specified a minimalist, typographic logo using white and one other colour associated with the name and function. Located next to a large body of water the final colour choice seemed fitting and worked well against a white background should it be inverted.

Top: Golden Paws Pet Services’ logo. Brief specified a colourful, feminine design. The client wanted to reference the golden paw theme but not too literally, hence the paw markings surrounding the lettering. The initial logo was to feature a dog but given that the company caters to other domestic animals we thought the inclusion of a cat would increase both the relevance to the company and the target market.

BRAND IDENTITY

Jodie Ewing’s logo - with stamp. The logo initially incorporated two circles in place of the stamp to reference a musical note. As it developed we considered this too clichéd and adopted a different approach featuring a silhouette of the performer. The stamp was used to signify the international nature of the business and the locket featured regularly within her stationery as it had personal significance to the client.

Top: Front of Jodie Ewing’s business card.

Middle: Reverse of the business card.

Bottom: Jodie Ewing’s letterhead.

Top: Artwork featuring an illustration created during the initial stages of the project.

Bottom: Client’s own image with logo incorporated. For use within future promotional material.

MAGAZINE SPREADS

Various inner spreads of the Ribble Valley Visitor’s Guide.

A4 double page spread designed for the Discover Ribble Valley visitors guide. The emphasis of the magazine was food and drink within area. The magazine had to be minimalist in style and incorporate a lot of white space alongside strong images showcasing the food and drink options available locally.

Top: Map illustration created to show the tourism highlights of the valley within the context of the surrounding area. The brief requested a digital illustration to in-keep with the rest of the magazine.

Adverts created for print within magazines and leaflets.

Adverts created to feature in the Discover Ribble Valley Visitor Guide. Both businesses were branches of the same company so continuity with the brand and similarities between both adverts were necessary in order to promote the chain of public houses/restaurants within the Ribble Valley in addition to the stand alone businesses.

MENUS

Menu designs produced during various employment.

Designed to showcase a selection of activities on offer in the Ribble Valley to promote tourism. The theme for the Visitor’s Guide 2015 was focused around food and drink within the area. The menu displayed each activity as if it were a separate meal course and listed them appropriately based on the length and nature of the activity. Designed whilst employed by Osprey Delivers.

Top: Menu designed for a new fish restaurant located close to the sea front. Developed a nautical theme for the menu due to the name, nature and location of the business.

Bottom: Table plan for a charity Christmas lunch to raise money for Rossendale Hospice. Work undertaken whilst working as a freelance designer for Farm Creative.

GRAPHIC ART

A series of digital, geometric prints.

Geometrical print. Colour scheme was inspired by Maltese floral street art. Intended to create optical illusion with six “hidden” squares.

Top: Print created using a geometrical pattern within the silhouettes of different types of butterflies. Inspired by the concept of entomology and insects mounted to a board.

Bottom: Idea driven by the previous design and created using the same pattern and colour scheme.
