GRADE 7 FEMALE & MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS In this lesson, the teacher will direct teach the male and female reproductive systems. Students will label the internal and external parts of the female reproductive system and explain the function and purpose of each part. • Activate Prior Knowledge/Engage

1. Begin lesson by establishing ground rules conducive towards a “safe” space.

2. Due to the sensitive nature of these topics, remind students to avoid

speaking about experiences of their fellow classmates.

3. Let students suggest rules or limits of their own for the class to be mindful of

throughout the discussion.

information

• Students work in partners to determine if a source is credible

Health information comes in all shapes and sizes.

The internet has increased our access to all sorts of sources of health information.

Reliable Information

1. Author -- Is there an Author listed?

2. Date -- Is it recent or was it published long ago?

3. Sources -- Is the information supported with citations and sources?

4. Domain -- Is it the information from a .com/.org/.net OR is it .edu?

5. Writing Style -- Is it clear and understandable? Is it free from errors?

With a partner, complete the ‘Understanding Reliability’ worksheet.

Each of you will do your own, but you may discuss each source of

information together. When you are finished, find a new partner and

compare your responses.
