Students are automatically registered for the mandatory Provincial Exam if they are currently enrolled in the course.

Provincial Exams

Students wishing to re-write a Provincial Exam must fill out a re-write form available at the front office. Deadline For Semester One is December 12th. For Semester Two is May 8th.

Students who register for an exam, but who do not attend the exam-sitting will keep their original exam mark. This mark will be used in the calculation of their final mark for the course.

Provincial Exam Results may be obtained at www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/. You will need your Personal Education Number to log-in.

A student will receive a $1000 Examinations Scholarship if he or she:

Meets the basic eligibility requirementsAchieves at least a “B” (73%) in English 12 or

Communications 12Rank among the top 5000 scholarship students

in B.C.A student will receive $2500 if he/she ranks

among the top 20 scholarship students in the province.

Post Secondary Information

In order to graduate students must complete the following: 150 minutes of DPA (on average) per week 30 Hours of Work or Volunteer experience Career Plan/Transitions Plan, due December 15th,

which will include:◦ Work/Volunteer Experience form (with proof)◦ Up-to-date Resume◦ Financial Plan (budget) ◦ Researching a career

Exit Interview will be on April 24th 2015 Note: IB Diploma students – CAS covers DPA and work/volunteer

hours. However, IB Diploma students DO have to complete the career plan, resume, and financial plan.

S-TRIPS Are organized by a private company that specializes in student travel and operate separate from the secondary schools or the school district. These trips are not Port Moody Secondary School or District 43 (Coquitlam) approved trips.

We do not sanction or allow S-Trips to occur at our school. The information that we have from past trips is that the supervision, behaviour expectations and safety for students on an S-Trip is very different then a District 43 (Coquitlam) authorized overnight trip.
