Geography and History of the World

Course Description

Geography and History of the World students will able to describe the geographical patterns and interrelationships of the major physical and cultural features on the Earth’s surface, as well as have a clear understanding of historical events and patterns, which have shaped the world. They will be able to analyze past and present political structures in order to make rational choices as participating citizens in a democratic society.

Geography and History of the World is organized to help students analyze the interaction of people and institutions in economic systems and encourage investigation of a wide range of world nations and cultures in terms of their diversity, commonalities, heritages, and interrelationships. We will examine the patterns and interaction of individual and group behavior, as well as analyze the current issues and hypothesize about their impact upon the past, present, and the future.

Geography and History of the World students will able to draw conclusions and make decisions based on relevant data derived from a variety of sources and also develop a reasoned commitment to those civic values needed to function responsibly in a democratic society.
