genetically modified organisms (gmo)
TRANSCRIPT
Genetically Modified
Organisms.
• GMOs are genetically modified
organisms. Meaning that these are
products such as food that scientists
have modified to be bigger, or are a
different color.
• When you walk into a supermarket in Caracas, you will notice that the fruits and vegetables are different shape then the ones in the U.S.A. The color and the sizes are
• different because most of the products in the states are genetically modified.
• They look perfect and taste different then the ones here in Caracas.
• Scientists can transfer and recombine the
DNA of one organism, into another. For
example, Scientists can take a tomato,
small and green, and they can put the DNA
of another organism, making it big and red.
The USDA states that 80 percent of
American corn and 90 percent of American
soy and cotton crops are genetically
modified.
