In GCSE Art we aim to give you the skills and knowledge to keep being creative in your thinking, ideas and development.

UNIT ONE – COURSEWORK (60%)
YEAR 1O – Land , Sea and SKy (ANIMALS) For this project you will need to be more independent with your ideas as you pick the animal you study. You will all study the artist's Mark Powell and Albrecht Durer but you will also research an artist of your choice. You get to experience learning outside the classroom with a trip to Whipsnade Zoo. At the end of the project you complete a larger canvas for a final outcome
YEAR 9: NATURAL FORMSYou will study the artists William Morris, Georgia O’Keeffe and KArl Blossfeldt. You will learn how to use acrylic paints and mixed media.
You will produce a final canvas at the end of project.
UNIT TWO – Externally Set Assignment (40%)In Year 11 you will be set a theme by the exam board and given 10 school weeks to prepare for a ten hour exam. This is your exam project.You will need to use all the skills you have learnt in the UNIT 1 projects to respond independently with an original idea. This is the project that our GCSE students enjoy the most!
