join us in welcoming Dale Bjurstrom to the position of Vice President. He’s an energetic, creative guy who is excited about helping out in a variety of ways in Fruit Valley. Your 2015-2017 FVNA Leaders: President - Eric LaBrant

Vice President - Dale Bjurstrom Secretary - Linda Garcia Treasurer - Sharon Kersting Sergeant in Arms - Robert Lundy

Come join us at our monthly meetings, held the first Thursday of each month, at 7:00 PM, in the Community Center. Find out what’s going on, meet your neighborhood leaders and help make Fruit Valley a great place to live, work and play!

Calling all neighbors!! Do you do a lot of work around the house but never seem to have all the tools you need? The neighborhood is here to help!

The Fruit Valley Foundation and Evergreen Habitat for Humanity has recently partnered with Lowe’s in Orchards to bring a Tool Lending Library to the Fruit Valley neighborhood!

On September 3rd and 4th, Habitat volunteers and Lowe’s employees will be building a shed at the Minit Mart on the corner of Fruit Valley Road and Fourth Plain Blvd. Once the shed is up and going, you will be able to become a member and check out tools for FREE! For an application to join, call or email Heather at 360-737-1759 or [email protected].

We are also still looking for tool donations to stock the shed. If you have any extra hammers, shovels, or other tools laying around and would like to donate them so your neighbors can use them, contact Heather.

Third Annual Fall Festival Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 10. Fall Festival, sponsored

by Fruit Valley Foundation, is returning to Fruit Valley Park! While

October can bring tricky weather, this event will continue RAIN OR

be showing a movie that night - stay tuned for details! This event is

Where to find MY newsletter As you might guess getting the newsletters delivered to everyone in our area is a pretty big task. Our goal is to have the newsletters available the first part of each month. If you do not have one delivered to your home, look for them at the Chevron Station or the Minit-Mart. We also have newsletter boxes on each of the “Little Free Libraries” at the Community Center, the school, and throughout the neighborhood as well. Feel free to pick them up there and grab a few for your neighbors!

What I love about Fruit Valley The Fruit Valley Newsletter is about our community, and this is your newsletter.

Please share your thoughts and photos of what you love about our neighborhood. You can send pictures of sunsets, kids/dogs playing in your yard or the park, your great garden, or whatever else you love about our beautiful neighborhood. Send photos to Heather at [email protected]

We all will look forward to seeing and hearing from you for the upcoming newsletters.
