Future perfect and future continuous FUTURE PERFECT USE We use the future perfect to say that something will be finished by a particular time in the future. FUTURE PERFECT

USE

We use the future perfect to say that something will be finished by a particular

We often use the future perfect with ‘by’ or ‘in’.

‘By’ means ‘not later than a particular time’ and ‘in’ means 'within a period of

FUTURE CONTINUOUS

USE

We use the future continuous to talk about something that will be in progress at or around a time in the future.

We can use the future continuous to talk about what we assume is happening

at the moment.

FORM

will + be + infinitive + -ing EXAMPLE

- The kids are very quite. They will be doing something wrong, I know it! - Do not phone grandma now, she will be having dinner. - This time tomorrow we will be sitting on the beach. I can not wait!

- Do not ring at 8 o’ clock. I will be watching a soap-opera.

COMPARE FUTURE PERFECT & FUTURE CONTINUOUS

These people are standing in a queue to get into the cinema.

Half an hour from now, the cinema will be full.

Everyone will be watching the film.

Three hours from now, the cinema will be empty. The film will have finished.

Everybody will have gone home.
