STRENGTH IN
PERFORMING ARTS
In addition to gaining access to
courses at the major universities in
Perth, numerous PWS students
have had success in gaining access
to the highly respected courses at
the WA Academy of Performing Arts
(WAAPA). From the past three
graduating classes, we have
graduates who have gained access
to the Dance, Music, and Production
streams.
Class 12 at Perth Waldorf School PREPARING STUDENTS FOR MUCH MORE THAN JUST UNIVERSITY
At PWS, Class 12 is about more than just preparing
students for the transition to University. Class 12 represents
the culmination of twelve years of Waldorf education, and
gives students the opportunity to complete a variety of Main
Lessons across the curriculum as well as weekly classes in
English, Mathematics and four elective units.
CLASS 12 PROJECTS
Running parallel to this coursework is the Class 12 Projects.
This is a year-long endeavour that challenges each student
to examine in-depth a topic of their selection. Students
complete an essay, a practical component,
and keep a reflective journal of the process. The project
experience is as enriching, challenging and immersive as
the rest of their Waldorf education.
To see the final product of this process we encourage you
to come and watch the Class 12 Project
Presentations, please see the PWS website closer to
the date for topics and times. Each class 12 student
will publicly present their project for 30 minutes and
answer questions.
PWS graduates gain access to the courses they strive for

HOLISTIC EDUCATION
Whilst working on their Class 12 Project, students
continue to engage in a wide range of subjects
through their Main Lessons. The Steiner-Waldorf
curriculum is designed to develop students in a
multi-disciplinary way, preparing graduates for the
dynamic nature of future employment and
encouraging them to take their place as engaged
global citizens. Over the course of the final year,
specialist teachers present Main Lessons in the
following subjects:
• English: World Literature, and Faust
• Sciences: Zoology, Organic Chemistry, Light &
Colour, and Cosmology
• History: Perspectives
• Art: Architecture, and Drama
EARLY ACCESS TO STAT ENTRY
Since 2012 PWS has worked with TISC (Tertiary Institution Service
Centre – www.tisc.edu.au) to ensure that upon graduation from PWS,
our students have the ability to enter university directly, as school
leavers, through specially granted early access to the STAT (Special
Using this unique early access to the STAT, students have the ability to
gain direct entry to almost all of the courses offered to students using an
ATAR entrance. A small selection of courses may require bridging units
before admission.
Admissions Test) – a nationally
recognized mature aged tertiary
entrance test. STAT results help
students gain entrance to all of the
public universities in WA (Curtin, ECU,
Murdoch & UWA), as well as
universities in other states and
countries. Entrance to Notre Dame is
gained through the portfolio method (a
collection of schoolwork, references,
and exam and subject results).
