CHOOSE YOUR Many of our subject areas are available as a full-time course or an apprenticeship. Use this checklist to reflect on what would be best for you.

Apprenticeships combine work and study by mixing on-the-job training with an employer, classroom learning at college and self-study. You get started on your career straight away, earn a wage and gain qualifications and experience that will help you progress up the career ladder, move on to degree level apprenticeships or university. Find out more on Pages 10-11.

Apprenticeships are right for you if:

APPRENTICESHIP ROUTE

You know which career area you want to go into and want to learn on the job.

You are ready to commit to a full-time job and start

earning.

You are happy to study independently, get support through regular visits from your trainer and, for some

programmes, a college day-release to build up your

knowledge.

Professional and technical full-time courses are practical and hands-on courses that prepare you with the skills and knowledge in your chosen subject area. The qualification and skills you gain can lead to university, an apprenticeship or a job. You would be attending college, usually, three days a week. To gain real world experience and industry-ready work skills, the courses include work experience and, for some courses, you will undertake an Industry Placement for two days a week in term time.

You will get full access to all of the college support and facilities available on both campuses.

Full-time college study is right for you if:

PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL FULL-TIME ROUTE

You enjoy practical, hands-on learning and want to explore the

full range and options of a subject.

You love getting involved in special projects, work experience and competitions to help you learn.

You are not quite ready for work yet and love college life

and seeing your college friends every day.
