Today I want you to use the blocks or tin cans that you used in Monday’s lesson. Can you go around your living room and measure different things? E.g. the TV, the chair, the sofa, the table etc. What was the biggest/ smallest? Shortest tallest?

Understanding of the world

See if you can have another go at the game we played yesterday. We are going to play colour hunt. Each player decides on their favourite colour (all different from each other). Everyone is going to race around the home to find as many objects in their favourite colour in the time set. Decide on a place to come back to when the timer sounds. Set a timer on your phone for as long as you want to give (2 mins is a good time). Ready…set… go…I wonder who will win??This time play three rounds. Make a tally chart of how many things you each got on each round. Who got the largest number of things? Who was the winner?

A tally chart looks like this Rachel Grace

= 10 = 5

Expressive arts and designToday using your favourite colours, I would like you to paint a picture but this time you need to put on your favourite song too. Before you start painting is the music fast or slow? You have to paint to the speed of your song. Try this again with the opposite tempo to the one you had e.g. if it was fast choose a slow song and vice versa. Do not worry about what you paint just move your brush to the music and see what happens. What does your picture look like? What happened when it was fast/ slow?

Name practise – Lets practice the actvity we did before the Easter holiday…

This activity is called see it, build it, write it.

If you can make a sheet of paper into this for your child’s name you can use magnetic letters or letters that you have written and cut up in order for them to reassemble their name.
