Welcome to The Texas Tribune Festival!

The Texas Tribune Festival is a forum for discussion and civic engagement about issues that affect all Texans, and we're striving to make the event welcoming and accessible to all who are interested in participating. Parking at the FestivalThursday and Friday are working days in busy downtown Austin. Expect parking to beat a premium and possibly difficult to find. We suggest rideshare or bus if possible. On Saturday, Sept. 29, we’ll use Lot 27 marked on this map for ADA accessible parking that is right next to the northern end of our Open Congress footprint.

Getting around the FestivalOur shuttle sponsor Chariot will have an ADA-equipped shuttle on Friday, Sept. 28,and Saturday, Sept. 29.

For wheelchair users, all venues are ADA compliant. Central Presbyterian Church is an old historic building with a ramp leading to an entrance in the back of the building. There is signage inside to direct you back into the sanctuary. There is also a steep incline on San Jacinto Street between 7th and 8th streets. We suggest approaching St. David’s from the 7th Street shuttle stop. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to get into these venues.

Quiet Room for sensory reliefWe understand that lights, sounds, heat and crowds can be difficult for some people.On Saturday, Sept. 29, attendees needing a quiet room can go to the AA MeetingRoom (Room 103, in the hallway which leads out to Brazos Street) on the basement levelof Central Presbyterian Church for sensory relief. The room is dimly lit, cool and witha few comforts to allow for relief as needed. It is open and free for all to use. Thanksto the Texas Autism Society for advice on this room.

Mother’s roomNursing moms looking for a private space can head to the Guild Parlor at St. David’s Episcopal Church. It’s large with comfortable seating and a mini-fridge if cold storageis needed.

Closed captioning on the livestreamWe are offering closed captioning on livestreams of the Opening and Closing Keynotes, along with Friday panels at The Paramount Theatre and Saturday panels in the NBC News & MSNBC South Tent. Transcripts of these panels are available post-event by request to festival@texastribune.org.
