PROGRAM REPORT Sandie Tieman, VP Programs Hi Ladies, First and foremost, I would like to thank Pat Hull for teaching after the January meet-ing. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay and paint, but I have heard that it was a wonder-ful class. Pat helped me out greatly as I was struggling to find someone to teach for the month of January. Speaking of which, if anyone would like to volunteer NOW for January of 2014, please let me know. :) After the February meeting, we have Linda Whaley teaching a pen & ink project. This will be the first time Linda has taught for our Chapter, so everyone please lend her your support and sign up! You will find the registration form in this newsletter. Jan Bowen is teaching in March and will have her project to display at the meeting. The pro-gram schedule is also in the newsletter for the remainder of 2013. I am happy and excited to announce that we have secured Robert Warren for a 2 day special seminar. The dates will be Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st, so be sure to mark your calendars. There will be another special seminar sometime in September, and I will forward that information on as soon as it's a done deal. And last but not least, I would like to thank Stephanie for her service and dedication as President of our Chapter. Without members like Stephanie who are willing to give of their time and energy, our Chapter would not survive. Congratulations to all the new elect-ed officers as well, I know we are in good hands and will continue to do what is needed to keep our Chapter alive and well. Hope to see you all at the meeting, in the meantime, be safe, be happy and be paintin'!! According to David Vernon of The Pampered Palette, a new painting magazine titled “Paint It”

will launch in March 2013. Retailing for $3.99 per issue, the magazine will be available for

order and purchase through The Pampered Palette online store in March, 2013.

David writes: “This is great for our industry since over the years so many magazines have been

discontinued. Here we have a BRAND NEW publication for the painters. I hope this is just the

beginning of additional growth throughout our industry.”

Check out our online store at http://www.pamperedpalette.com to order the magazine.

GREATER CINCINNATI DECORATIVE ARTISTS CHAPTER MEETING

January 13, 2013

President: Stephanie Hauser called the meeting to order at 12:08 pm.

Secretary: There were no corrections to the November minutes. Anne Dick made a motion to accept, and Suzanne

Fairbanks seconded.

Treasurer: Jean Sanning gave a report of our current balance. She will make budget changes that will be published in

the newsletter and voted on at the February meeting.

VP Programs: Sandie Tieman reported that Pat Hull will be teaching a colored pencil piece on a sewing box today, and

there are 17 people signed up to take it. Linda Whaley will be teaching a pen and ink piece in February. Jan Bowen will

be teaching in March. Robert Warren has agreed to a seminar on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. Sandie is work-

ing on organizing a watercolor piece for the September seminar.

VP Membership: Melanie Wilmhoff reported that there were 32 members present today. We have a new member –

Lynne Rice. Everyone needs to start a new page in the book today to keep track of members in good standing. To be a

member in good standing, you must attend 2 meetings, paint 6 ornaments or a basket for the Christmas party, and one of

5 other things. Vouchers for members in good standing from 2012 were passed out today. There were 30 vouchers.

Ways & Means: Sherida England showed the raffle prizes for today and passed the basket around. She tried something

new today – the prizes were in gift bags, so that the prizes couldn’t be seen. Winners picked a bag without knowing

what was in it.

Newsletter: Pat Hull requested that reports for the newsletter be submitted to her by the 21st of each month so she can

arrange space for everything.

Website: Pat Hull asked for members to give her any changes in email address. The address of the website is gcdapaint-

ers.org.

Publicity: No report today.

Service: Peggy Hermes reported that we will volunteer at Matthew 25 Ministries next year on a Saturday, to give those

who work a chance to help also.

2013 Retreat Chair: Jo Ann Heurich reported that there are 32 people signed up at this point for the retreat. The price

goes up on March 1.

Christmas Raffle: Jo Sharpshair reported that last year 38 members turned in ornaments, and this helps get the member

in good standing status. This brings in a lot of money.

Christmas Party Chair: Jo Sharpshair asked members to volunteer for this committee for 2013.

Nominating Committee Chair: Carole Arend needs 3 people to volunteer to help with this.

Hospitality: No report at this time.

Sunshine: No report at this time.

Historian: Volunteer is needed for this.

Old Business: No report at this time.

New Business: Installation of new officers took place today. Board members were sworn in by Stephanie Hauser. This

included: Susan Parrett for President, Linda Kohler for VP Membership, Peggy Jessee for Treasurer, and Gail Wissel for

Secretary. Stephanie also introduced and said thank you to all members that are officers as well as the committee chairs.

Stephanie Hauser was presented with a gift as outgoing president.

Show and Tell: The items that members brought today were shown.

Ways & Means Raffle: Winners of raffle prizes today include Carolyn Riehle, Susan Parrett and Linda Kohler.

Nametag Raffle: Carol Cole was wearing her nametag and received $5.

Jan Bowen made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Jean Sanning. The meeting was adjourned at 12:32 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Kohler
