UBorrow request functionality available in the Union catalog
Returnables, currently defined as◦ Bib format BOOK or AV, AND◦ Not available at your library (not owned, checked out or
otherwise unavailable) AND◦ Loanable / requestable at another SUL according to Aleph
xxu50/tab/tab15.eng or Item Statuses table*
If the first two criteria are met but the item is NOT available at another SUL, will automatically present ILLiad login
*If an item is available locally but is NOT loanable / requestable (e.g. Reference, Special Collections), it will be UBorrow-able if it is loanable / requestable at another SUL.
Enable users to access the UBorrow service – Word of mouth advertisement
Gain “real life” experience regarding how UBorrow is actually used
Test libraries’ workflows in advance of wider publicity
Determine additional needs / priorities for full launch
Thursday, February 24 End of the day – UBorrow permissions in Test

Implementation Team - first line of support at Institution
◦ New UBorrow RT queue for UB related issues
◦ Moving around the client – using symbols at bottom right to jump from module to module
Troubleshooting and reporting problems, cont.
◦ Failed Requests: Locate Failed (generally communication issue), APDU exceptions, found under Admin tab (generally
typo errors). * It is very important to notify FCLA for assistance.
Fixes will need to be made at all SULs for UBorrow to function properly.
◦ Scannable Barcodes – if scannable barcodes not showing on pullslip or Arrival slip, may need Barcode fonts installed, contact FCLA for assistance or download from Microsoft site.
