The corn- - mitteosay the matter is ono that i belongs properly to tho Board of Health, and as that body is op posed to tho resumption of fish- ing at prosont,it is not advisable to go contrary to thoir wishes. Tho speaker stated that ho hadno part or lot in tho proposeddiscussion or tho articlo in ouo oftho papers which had brought itout, ho know nothing about it un-til ho saw it as published, it waswholly unauthorized by him, thooccasion therefore was not soughtby him. Novortholess as a servantt)f tho Most High, and as oneconsecrated to tho christian min-istry and to tho proclamation oftho wholo truth of God ho mustoboj tho Divine injunction to"contend earnestly for tho faithwhich was once for all deliveredunto tho caints." And when hemade btatemouts from the pulpitho came with the scholarship oftho world to back him. "It is mybusiness to prench tko "Word, ifthat conflicts with the 'traditionsof tho fathers' or tho creeds anddoctrines of mordoru sectistn. Iam not responsible," he said.

"When I givo you tho word,God talks to you and it's you andtho Bible for it; 1 am not in lineat nil. I havo my convictions andthey are as deep as tho sea and I'ddie for any ouo of them. On thosubject of baptism I take undis-puted ground, it is a positioncommauded of God, every convertrecorded in tho New Testamentwas baptised." Here tlio speakerread from the articlo of Mr. Peckwhore lie claimed that tho scholarsand best men of tho world regard-ed it as a "non-essential- ." Hethen produced the Lutheran, Ep-iscopal, Methodirt and Presbyter-in- n

creeds und rend from thornand also quoted from the immort-al Wesley, they nil ngrecing ns totho scriptural necessity of tho or--dinnnco ns commanded by Jesusand practiced by the Apostles. You cannot get into any of theseloading roligious bodies withoutbaptism, d. Aro thoy alioadof Heaven ? With regard Ao im-mersion, ho said that by a woll-know- n

law of language tli.e correctdefinition of a word could bo sub-stituted for the word itself, thenproceeding ho referred to Acts 2:38,and substituting, as portho before-mentione- d

law, tho wmd sprinklefor baptized it rend thus:

"And Potorsuid unto them, Re-pent ye and bo scattered in smalldrops (dofiuition of sprinklo),every ouo of you, a terrible thingto do. Jiy substituting tho wordpour, or its definition (nlso claimed to bo a correct definition of theword baptizo,) tho effect wnsequolly lidieulous, neither ofthoso words boiug used to trans-late tho word baptizo would mnkoany sonso nt all. Now, if im-mor- so

A church congregation downin Sanders, Ky., was dismissedmost summarily under un-pleasant circumstances twoSundays since. Right in themiddle of the preacher's dis-course there bolted into thechurch through ths half-op- endoor what appeared to be ablack and white cat, closelyfollowed by a yellow dog. Catand dog ran swiftly down themiddle aisle to the platform. The preacher taken unawares, did the natural thing, kickedat the cat, hit it, and landed itsquarely in the middle of thecongregation. Then it turnedout that the cat was a skunk. The rest of the story is left tothe imagination of the reader.

This week we want to callyour attention especially to theAlaska Refrigerator andgive you a few items concern-ing its construction.

To give strength and dura-bility, an inside body, or frameis made of well dried, matchedwood, to which hardwood !

cleats are solidly nailed. Uponthese cleats the outer body, orframe, is built.

The inner frame is madefrom perfectly odorless wood, and is lined with zinc. Po-lished as bright as a mirror, presenting a very clean and at-tractive appearance.

All exposed wood, as underthe lids and about the doors,is odorless tulip poplar, thoroughly shellaced. Thismakes the Refrigerator cleanand sweet.

Between the outer and innerwalls there is an inch and ahalf space filled with PureCharcoal. There is nothingso good in every way for fi-lling the space between thetwo walls ot a Refrigerator asPure Charcoal.

The locks are entirely newin principle, and are, withoutexception, the best ever usedon a Refrigerator. They willkeep the door closed perfectlytight, even if they were leftone-eigh- th inch loose.

The hinges are very strong, beautiful in design, and madeexpressly for The AlaskaRefrigerator.

All the trimmings are solidbrass, dipped finish, this beingthe latest style in fine brassgoods.

From the results of testsmade during the past threeyears, we are convinced thatthe Alaska is the best Re-frigerator in the market, inconstruction, in power to pre-serve perishables, in economyof ice, and, in fact, in all thepoints necessary to make themfirst-cla- ss in every respect.
