The target audience for our project was teenagers between the ages of 16-26 . On the socio-economic scale they would be positioned between C to E because these are the people who could relate to our product. We created a number of questionnaires to find out what elements an audience would look for in this product type, These are our findings:

We found that many of our classmates preferred more indie/pop music than our genre which was grime/dance. 75% of our classmates would rather see drugs, sex and violence in a video of this type, which is in keeping with our music video as many grime/dance videos use these elements to fit their genre.

Our video is very much based on a favourite of ours which is a music video by a group called Chase and Status song title ‘Let you go’. The video for this song has many uses of drug use, alcohol, violence and depression which we feel fit the genre for our video perfectly, we realised audiences like the theory of ‘the same but different’ therefore we included this in our project. We kept the elements of drugs and violence but gave our video a different narrative to that of the norm, by using effects to create flashbacks which are not often found in videos with this genre.

100% of our audience feedback said they enjoyed our video, although many told us some of the shots we used throughout the video could have been shorter to fit the pace of the song. The majority of the audience found that the narrative was clear to understand which was a worry for both of us. Finally we asked the audience if they would watch it again, this is what they said:
