During the research stage we learnt the importance of including house colours within our project as it creates a brand identity for the Artist/Band. We were unsure as what they would be until we began to film, at that time we discovered a location shot filled with a burst of colours; the tunnel. However, as there was so much colour at this location and house colours require a maximum of three colours, I decided I would edit the photos taken of the location (to be used for the ancillary so that certain colours would stand out above the rest.

After tampering with the photos on a photo editor I was able to make the green, blue and brown that featured in the picture pop out

The created house colours, green, blue and brown feature on other areas of the album and not just the albums front cover, I went through the same editing process as the front cover to achieve the same affect.

Even though the shades of the house colours may differ between images, there is no argument that these three colours still stand out about the rest.

For our poster we had originally intended to use the album cover as the posters image, but we changed that idea to having an entirely new image because we felt it would give the poster a unique presence. So by taking a new photo at the same location (Tunnel) because it had become a motif in itself, we had to ensure it still had the same house colours as featured before.

As the majority of our music video was written to be in black and white, it was hard to ensure that the house colours made an appearance, so we had the idea to keep changing the colour of the scene that featured in the tunnel from black and white to colour, so that the audience could clearly see the house colours.

These Screen Shots are all taken form the same scene in the music video (Tunnel)

The typography that features across all of our final products in this project, album covers, cd inserts and poster (Music video didn’t feature any typography) all had something in common; they were all white. We chose white because the bands logo’s (Already made) typography was white so we were just continuing a already defined part of the bands brand Identity.

Also several fonts feature across the tasks too, these were:- Garamond, Gills Sans Ultra Bold – Poster/Magazine Advert- Magneto Bold Semi-Expanded – Album Inserts- Bookman Old Style Semi-Bold – Album Covers

Having image motifs is key when creating a brand identity and as previously stated we used a location that features in the music video as one, the tunnel. We thought that the tunnel was a interesting enough and memorable enough location that is good enough to be a factor in the representation of our artist. So we featured this location all over the digipack.

Another Image motif we used was the ‘Artist’ Image, we advertised the artist in every possible way across our project. As other characters featured in our music video we wanted to separate the artist from them by giving him special treatment for example, he was the only character to lip sync and the only character to have their own scenes.

The industry information featured in our work only appeared on the digipack. We featured the record labels name on the album cover (Back) and the poster/magazine advert. The inclusion of a record label (even though the deal was fictional) gave the digipack a more convincing professional look.

The albums magazine advert/poster also features an advertisement for iTunes and online based music store, this gave the poster a more official look.

I also included some fake quotes given by music magazines, this was also to achieve a convincing and professional final product.
