Avoid• Closed door offices for young startup

• Seating by function, not working group

• Too many standing meetings (and tardiness)

• Emailsturbation "threads"

• Avoid managers who can't delegate - car story

• Hire resumes (Ads, Sean, Wiggins)

• Don’t Follow

• Let personal issues fester

• Keep people who have one foot out the door

• Don't partner for key technology

Try to do these...

• Good PR agency

• Overemphasize customer satisfaction

• More standing meetings direct reports

• Transparency

• Fire bad people sooner

• No assholes, for as long as possible

• A-Team.  Don't mix up ideas with execution.

• Don’t confuse a product with execution.

• Differentiate.  1st  or 2nd, not third

• The "easiest" differentiator is design. Remember Clownco?
