women’s leadership training and development organization. ELI is committed to developing a diverse
organization that fosters creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit by enriching the lives of women
through leadership opportunities, personal and professional learning, and cultural experiences. We
empower women to contribute to society as global leaders. ELI is comprised of four core divisions:
Leadership, Young 100, Apprentice, and JEWELLS®. Since its founding in 2008, ELI
has had over 400 women and girls participate in its programs in Georgia, Florida, North
Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, New Jersey, Canada, and Japan.

Keeper Foundation for Women.
was featured by Black Celebrity Giving in July 2011.
presented 17 of its volunteers with the President's Volunteer Service Award, one of the highest

established a satelite program in North Carolina with the appointment of 2009 Alumna Nasha
Snipes as State Coordiantoor.
Also, founding chairperson Jordan Murphy was selected to participate in and represented ELI in the 2011
One Voice: Reproductive Health and Environment Summit in Washington, DC; and co-founder Lynita
Mitchell-Blackwell was recognized as a 2011 Black Enterprise “BE Next 35” Young and Bold Business
Leader due to the exceptional progress of ELI.

Leadership, Young 100, Apprentice, and JEWELLS® programs are extremely dedicated and motivated,
and have demonstrated their knowledge, skill, expertise, experience, and education to lead and inspire
others.

Your commitment to excellence and continued education – both institutional and practical – have been an
absolute joy to behold. Our ultimate goal was to show you that YOU are the woman you have been

About Our Speaker: Judge Kimberly M. Esmond Adams
Kimberly M. Esmond Adams began her term as Judge on the Fulton
County Superior Court January 1, 2009, following her election by the
citizens of Fulton County. Prior to her election to the Fulton Superior
Court, Judge Adams served for nearly six years in the Office of the Fulton
County District Attorney, ultimately as a Chief Senior Assistant District
Attorney. During her tenure in the Fulton District Attorney’s Office,
Judge Adams prosecuted major felony cases involving homicide and
crimes committed against women and children such as rape and child
molestation.
Judge Adams began her public service career in 2002 after more than
three years of practice as an employment attorney with Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC, an Atlanta-
based labor and employment boutique. Prior to joining Constangy, Judge Adams worked in higher
education administration. She also provided research assistance to a Scholar-in-Residence at the Southern
Education Foundation with a book-writing project funded by the Ford Foundation.
A past president of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), Judge Adams has
served in a number of leadership capacities, both professionally and in her community. She has served on
the boards of the Atlanta Technical College Foundation, The Georgia Association of Black Women
Attorneys Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta - West End Cluster, and the Restorative
Justice Board of the Atlanta Municipal Court.
In addition, Judge Adams has served as an officer of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta
where she has been a member for more than 25 years. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated, and she is a charter member of the Tau Epsilon Omega Chapter serving the East Point and
College Park communities.
Judge Adams has received several honors and awards, most notably, Who's Who in Law and Business by
the Atlanta Business Chronicle; Woman of the Year - "Ordinary Woman With Extraordinary Talents" by
Women Looking Ahead News Magazine, and Special Unit Trial Attorney of the Year by the Fulton
County District Attorney's Office. She also is an alumnus of Leadership Georgia.
Judge Adams received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She
earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Notre Dame Law School. She is a member of the Georgia Bar and
admitted to practice before all of the trial courts in Georgia, the United States District Court for the
Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the
Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.
She is married to Michael Adams, and they are the proud parents of one teenage son, Michael.

2012 Graduating Class
Leadership Division The Leadership Division guides a group of adult women to further develop core competencies
through a holistic approach to build a professional portfolio. The following women successfully
completed this six month program.
Ms. Shanae Eppinger is a Customer Service Manager with the Miami-Dade
County Water and Sewer Department (WSD). She obtained her Bachelor of
Science degree with a concentration in Business Administration from Florida
A&M University, and her Master degree in Public Administration degree from
Nova Southeastern University. In addition to her duties with the WSD, Shanae
also volunteers in the community, creating a professional development Course for
15 local middle and high schools throughout the district. Shanae is the Youth
Director of The Gould's Church of the Nazarene, and an avid volunteer with the
American Heart Association and the Florida A&M University Alumni
Association.
Ms. Natasha A. M. Graham is a Retail Lease Administrator with Robert Half Legal
Division. She is also a certified Paralegal, and has ten years experience working in
law firms, property management, and mortgage organizations, including Freddie
Mac. Natasha obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from
Wellesley College, and was recently accepted into the S.C. Johnson Graduate
School of Management at Cornell University Class of 2014. Natasha is an active
member of the Wellesley Alumnae Association, serving on the Washington, DC
and Atlanta Admissions Committees where she assists in recruit high school
students for her alma mater.
Ms. Angie Hawkins works with the Social Security Administration. She
obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Business
Management from Hampton University. Formerly, Angie was a Financial Aid
Administrator, and was a member of the American Association of Financial Aid
Administrators.

Ms. Kenna Toney is an activist and speaker with regards to human rights, anti-war
issues, and prisoners’ rights. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with a
concentration in Government and Sociology, and recently completed her Masters in
Political Science and History at Clark Atlanta University. Kenna has worked in the
political realm as a legislative aide to the majority leader of the California State
Legislature, as a council aide to the President of Oakland City Council and a council
aide to the Dean of Atlanta City Council; this in addition to working on numerous
campaigns . Kenna has received political training from various agencies and groups,
including The White House Project, Emily’s List and Democracy for America.
Ms. Nan Walker serves as Director of Baby Universe Childcare. She obtained her Associates of Arts
degree from Atlanta Technical College and is working toward her Bachelor of Science degree in
Education at Clayton State. Nan is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteer with several
women’s shelters in Clayton County. Nan founded and manages an e-line for parents with children who
suffer from ADHD. She is an Avon team leader and member of the National Association of Female
Entrepreneurs.
Ms. Audra Brown Ward is the Director of Diversity and Science Department Chair
at Marist School. Audra received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from
Spelman College and a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the Georgia Institute
of Technology. Audra has facilitated teacher workshops, contributed to various
teacher guides and ancillaries for AP Biology textbooks and has recently been
involved in the creation of professional development workshop materials for the
College Board. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fountain of Faith
Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Stefanie White is the Event Coordinator at the Atlanta Airport Marriott. She
obtained her Bachelors in Accounting from Long Island University. She is an
assistant Girl Scout Troop Leader, and has served in various capacities, including
president, of the Mocha Moms of North Cobb County. Stefanie has also fundraised
consistently with the March of Dimes and American Heart Associations for over
seven years, and enjoys volunteering with Hands on Atlanta.
Ms. Stephanie Willis is a family therapist. She obtained her Bachelors of Science
degree from Illinois Southern University, Masters of Science and Administration
degree from Central Michigan University, and is working toward her Doctor of
Philosophy at Cappella University. Stephanie is a founding member of the
Women’s Ministry of Beulah Baptist Church, previous Program Director of
Caningworks, Inc., and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Training in Facilitation, Fostering A New You® (TIFFANY) The TIFFANY® program is a portion of the Leadership Division curriculum wherein participants are
afforded the opportunity to earn their facilitator’s certification. This program was completed due to a
collaborative partnership with the My Sister’s Keeper Foundation for Women’s Single Mothers program.
The following Leadership Division candidates earned the ELI Facilitator Certification upon completion of
the TIFFANY® course work and practicum with My Sister’s Keeper: Shanae Eppinger, Angie Hawkins,
Audra Brown Ward, and Stephanie Willis.
My Sister’s Keeper Foundation for Women Inc. (MSK) is a volunteer-based, non-profit 501(c)(3)
organization founded in 2004 with a mission of “Moving Women from Average to Excellence”. MSK was
established and directed by a group of women who are primarily concerned with effecting change in the
lives of women through empowering coaching relationships.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of My Sister’s Keeper Foundation for Women, Dr. Antoinette G.
Alvarado, is also the Co-Pastor of Total Grace Christian Center in Atlanta, Georgia. We sincerely thank
Dr. Alvarado and the MSK team for their professionalism, friendship, and support.
Young 100 Division The Young 100 Division prepares collegiate women to appropriately manage
interpersonal and professional experiences by developing social and critical skills. This
year’s program was completed due to a collaborative partnership between ELI, East
Carolina University, and South Central High School in North Carolina that was
facilitated by newly appointed North Carolina State Coordinator Nasha SW Snipes.

Apprentice Division The Apprentice Division equips teen girls with essential life skills that facilitate a positive
transition to adulthood. This year’s program was facilitated due to collaborative partnerships
with Westlake High School and the Dorothy Height Academy of Leadership at Benjamin E.

President’s Volunteer Service Award ELI is a certifying organization with the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program, an award
program of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation established in 2003 by US President
George W. Bush. We proudly present the second round of volunteers to receive the Bronze, Silver, and
Gold service awards, and the first Lifetime service award for exemplary efforts put forth to drive ELI’s
mission. We are pleased to celebrate the culmination of National Volunteer Week in such an honorable
fashion.
The Bronze award is earned by volunteers who have completed at least 100 hours of service. We thank
Felicia Davis, Erica Jenkins, Shayla Isler, Jillian Smith, and Natasha Lyles for their dedicated service.
The Silver award is earned by volunteers who have completed at least 250 hours of service. We thank
Reggie Smith and Wendy Miller for their dedicated service.
The Gold award is earned by volunteers who have completed at least 500 hours of service. We thank
Nan Walker for her dedicated service.
The Lifetime Service award is earned by volunteers who have completed at least 4,000 hours of service.
We thank Lynita Mitchell-Blackwell for her dedicated service.
Most Valuable Resource The Most Valuable Resource award is presented to the ELI volunteer who goes above and beyond her
role and responsibilities to ensure the organization’s programs continue to provide exceptional benefit to
its participants within her assigned division. The first recipient of this award is Jillian Smith for her
work with the Leadership Division.
Eternal Flame The Eternal Flame Award is presented to the ELI volunteer who goes above and beyond her role and
responsibilities to ensure the organization’s programs continue to provide exceptional benefit to its
participants across multiple divisions. The first recipient of this award is Nan Walker for her work with
the Leadership, Apprentice and JEWELLS® Divisions.
