Faliro was developed,
especially in summer

In 1994, during Occupation,
the Railway and its factory
in Piraeus were damaged by
British bombing
In 1957 the network is finished
The stations in-between are

The railway reaches Kifissia
The biggest part of the rails are overground
Only 3,2 km are underground
In 2000, the company “Attiko Metro” is established
Two more lines were added
Almost every part of them is underground
The metro extension is being continued nowadays
In 2004, the operation of 3
tram lines started, resulting in
the transport’s expansion in
the city of Athens
