The price we pay for alienation from the natural world, our senses narrow, physiologically and psychologically. Time spent in nature can stimulate intelligence and creativity.
Term coined by Richard Louv in 2005,“Last Child in the Woods”
Richard Louv (based in California) - journalist and author of eight books about the connections between family, nature and community.

UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development
In its 58th meeting in December 2002, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, 2005- 2014, (DESD)
‘emphasizing that education is an indispensable element for achieving sustainable development’.
VISION: Everyone has the opportunity to benefit from quality education and learn the values, behaviour and lifestyles required for a sustainable future and for positive societal transformation.
