1) General Remarks The planning schedule transaction may be used in various ways in a combination of ways, such as: 1) a simple forecast; 2) a forecast with the buyer's authorization for the seller to commit to resources, such as labor or material; 3) a forecast that is also used as an order release mechanism, containing elements like resource authorization, period-to-date cumulative quantities, and specific ship/delivery requirements. This EDI Guide describes the usage of the EDIFACT DELFOR message in the Karmann Group. This message sent by Karmann informs the supplier about the material requirements. The message is based on EDIFACT standard in the version D.98B. It describes only the segments used by Karmann. Please consult also the EDIFACT documentation.
