FINE ARTS NEWS

Sankofa Nights Presents: “Cristo”

April 23rd – April 26th, 2015 Cristo is a dance drama depicting the remarkable story and life of Je-sus Christ of Nazareth. The story has a dual-setting in the hinterlands of West Africa and Middle East, thereby relying principally on both traditions as its source through a complex interwoven of poetry, thea-tre, contemporary and west African traditional music and dance as a medium of interpretation. This is a uniquely interpreted version of Christ's story you don't want to miss. From birth to adulthood, three-year mission to his passion, and his resurrection and commission to his followers, the dances are designed to creatively depict the story of Jesus.
