Dvorac i nekadašnji plemićki posjedGolubovec nalazi se u Hrvatskom zagorju,u slikovitu kulturnom krajoliku DonjeStubice, u Parku prirode Medvednica, odZagreba udaljen cestom 40 km, a zrakomsamo 19 km od središta Zagreba. Zaštićenkao kulturno dobro i prirodna rijetkost,Golubovec je uspio većim dijelom sačuvatisvoj graditeljski, prostorni i krajobrazniidentitet.

The manor and former noble estateGolubovec, situated in Hrvatsko Zagorjein the picturesque landscape of DonjaStubica, within the Medvednica NaturePark, is 40 kilometres away from Zagrebby road and only 19 kilometres away fromthe centre of Zagreb by air. Protected as acultural good and natural rarity, Golubovecmanaged to preserve most of itsarchitectural, spatial and landscape identity.

Das Schloss und einstige AdelsgutGolubovec befindet sich imnordkroatischen Bergland HrvatskoZagorje, genauer in der malerischenKulturlandschaft von Donja Stubica imNaturpark Medvednica, auf demStraßenweg etwa 40 von Zagrebentfernt, in der Luftlinie trennen es nur 19km vom Stadtzentrum Zagrebs.Golubovec, das als Kulturgut undNaturrarität unter Schutz steht, konnteseine bauliche, räumliche undlandschaftliche Identität weitestgehendbewahren.

Za istraživanje Golubovca i rekonstrukcijunjegovih povijesnih razvojnih etapa imijena na raspolaganju je izdašnapovijesna građa - stare katastarske igeodetske karte, nacrti, fotografije,objavljeni pisani radovi, sjećanjanekadašnjih vlasnika i drugi izvori.Literatura i dosadašnja istraživanjaGolubovca brojna su u odnosu na mnogedruge hrvatske dvorce. Od druge polovice17. pa do sredine 20. stoljeća nekoliko jeobitelji posjedovalo Golubovec:Mallakoczy, Domjanić, zagrebački biskupMaksimilijan Vrhovac, Sermage, Rauch iSteeb.

A wealth of historic records is availablefor researching Golubovec andreconstructing its historical developmentalphases and changes old cadastral andgeodetic maps, photographs, publishedworks, recollections of former owners andother sources. The literature onGolubovec and previous research findingsare quite numerous in comparison to manyof the Croatian castles. From the secondhalf of the 17th to the mid 20th centuryGolubovec was the property of severalfamilies: Mallakoczy, Domjanić, Zagreb'sbishop Maksimilijan Vrhovac, Sermage,Rauch and Steeb.

Bei der Erforschung von Golubovec undder Rekonstruktion seiner historischenEntwicklungsphasen und Wandlungensteht uns eine Fülle von historischemMaterial zur Verfügung alte Kataster- undVermessungskarten, Pläne, Fotografien,veröffentlichte schriftliche Arbeiten,Erinnerungen einstiger Besitzer undandere Quellen. Im Vergleich zu vielenanderen kroatischen Schlössern kann manbei Golubovec auf einen reichhaltigenBestand an Literatur und Untersuchungenzurückgreifen. Von der zweiten Hälfte des17. bis in die Mitte des 20. Jahrhundertswar Golubovec im Besitz mehrererFamilien: Mallakoczy, Domjanić, desZagreber Bischofs Maksimilijan Vrhovac,Sermage, Rauch und Steeb.

U drugoj polovici 20. stoljeća dvorac sunajdulje koristili Povijesni muzej Hrvatske,Nacionalna i sveučilišna knjižnica teDruštvo 'Kajkaviana'. Početkom 21.stoljeća polovica dvorca i dio posjedavraćena je nekadašnjim vlasnicima,barunima Steeb, koji su svoj dio prodalitvrtki «Vilinske poljane» d.o.o. iz DonjeStubice koja je naručitelj ove studije.Druga polovica dvorca i posjeda uvlasništvu je Republike Hrvatske.

In the second half of the 20th century themanor was used by the Croatian HistoryMuseum, the National and UniversityLibrary and the Kajkaviana Association.At the beginning of the 21st century halfof the manor and a part of the estate wererestituted to the former owners, thebarons Steeb, who sold their share toVilinske poljane d.o.o., a company fromDonja Stubica which commissioned thisstudy. The other half of the manor isunder the ownership of the Republic ofCroatia.

In der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhundertssind das Historische Museum Kroatiens,die National- und Universitätsbibliothekund die Gesellschaft „Kajkaviana“ alsausgiebigste Benutzer des Schlosses zunennen. Anfang des 21. Jahrhundertswurde eine Hälfte des Schlosses und einTeil des Anwesens den früherenEigentümern, der Freiherrenfamilie vonSteeb, zurückgegeben, die ihren Teilwiederum an die „Vilinske poljane“ d.o.o.(„Mondscheinwiesen“-G.m.b.H.) ausDonja Stubica verkauften, die diese Studieauch in Auftrag gab. Die andere Hälftevon Schloss und Anwesen ist im Eigentumder Republik Kroatien.

Golubovec je smješten na nadmorskojvisini od 200-tinjak metara, na staništušume hrasta lužnjaka i graba, s izdašnimvrelima vode, s 1002.6 mm godišnjihpadalina i prosječnim temperaturama od -2do +22 C°. Odlikuje ga posebnost iraznolikost krajolika: šume, gajevi, živice,pojedinačna stabla i livade, nekolikopotoka i malih jezera, rubno smješteneoranice i voćnjaci, sa slikovitim vidicimaprema Medvednici, brdu koje dijeli Zagrebod sjeverno smještenog Hrvatskogazagorja. Pejsažni prostor dvorcaGolubovec sastoji se iz tri cjeline: perivoja,perivojne šume i Vilinskih poljana.

Golubovec is located at an altitude ofapproximately 200 meters above sea level,at the habitat of common oak andhornbeam forest. The estate ischaracterized by unique and diverselandscape: forests, groves, hedges,individual trees and meadows, severalcreeks and smaller lakes, arable land andorchards on its borders, and picturesqueviews of Medvednica, the hill to the northof Zagreb dividing it from HrvatskoZagorje. The landscape surrounding themanor consists of three units: thelandscape garden, the park and the FairyLawns (Vilinske poljane).

Golubovec liegt auf einer Höhe von etwa200 m über dem Meeresspiegel in einemvon Stieleichen und Hainbuchenbewachsenen Landstrich, den einigeBesonderheiten und vor allem Diversitätkennzeichnen: Wälder, Haine, Hecken,einzeln wachsende Bäume, Wiesen,mehrere Bäche und Weiher, Obstplantagenund Äcker in Randlage, pittoreskeAnsichten des Gebirgszuges Medvednica,der Zagreb vom nördlich gelegenenHrvatsko Zagorje trennt. DerLandschaftsraum von Schloss Golubovecbesteht aus den drei EinheitenSchlossgarten, Schlosspark undMondscheinwiesen.

Perivoj počinje podizati zagrebački biskupMaksimilijan Vrhovac 1819. godine. Udrugoj polovici 19. st. perivoj je biopovećan i uređen. U drugoj polovici 20. st.izostalo je redovito održavanje pa jepostupno nestajalo staro drveće. Napočetku 21. st. perivoj je zapušten iprerasta u nenjegovanu šumu u kojojprevladava samonikla i korovna vegetacija.

The landscape garden was first laid out in1819 under Maksimilijan Vrhovac, thebishop of Zagreb. In the second half ofthe 19th century it was enlarged andlandscaped. In the second half of the 20thcentury regular maintenance wasdiscontinued and old trees gradually died.At the beginning of the 21st century thelandscape garden stands neglected and isturning into an uncultivated forestdominated by self-grown, weed vegetation.

Der Schlossgarten wurde im Jahre 1819vom Zagreber Bischof MaksimilijanVrhovac angelegt. In der zweitenJahrhunderthälfte wurde er vergrößert undneu gestaltet. In der zweiten älfte des 20.Jahrhunderts entfällt die regelmäßigePflege, was den allmählichen Schwund desalten Baumbestands herbeiführte. ZuBeginn des 21. Jahrhunderts ist derSchlossgarten verwahrlost und verwächstzu einem ungepflegten Wald mitüberwiegend wildwachsender und vonUnkraut durchsetzter Vegetation.

Na mjestu stare kurije plemića Domjanićgrofica Regina Drašković rođ. Domjanićizgradila je oko 1800. godine jednokatnibaroknoklasicistički dvorac Golubovec,tlocrtno u obliku slova U. Biskup Vrhovacdograđuje altanu na glavnom pročelju, akasniji vlasnici održavaju dvorac uizvornome stanju.

Where previously an old curia of the nobleDomjanić family stood, around the year1800 countess Regina Drašković bornDomjanić built a one-storey Baroque-classicist manor Golubovec with a U-shaped ground plan. Bishop Vrhovacadded an altana (pillar-supported balcony)to the front façade, and subsequent ownerskept the manor in its original shape.

An der Stelle des alten Herrenhauses derAdelsfamilie Domjanić ließ Gräfin ReginaDrašković geb. Domjanić um 1800 daseinstöckige barock-klassizistische SchlossGolubovec errichten, das einen u-Grundriss hat. Bischof Vrhovac ließ ander Front einen Altan anbauen, diespäteren Besitzer erhalten das Schloss inseinem ursprünglichen Zustand.

U usporedbi s brojnim hrvatskimdvorcima, Golubovec je dobro očuvan.Analiza vrjednovanja hrvatskih dvoraca,napravljena prema 16 kriterija i na uzorkuod 100 dvoraca sjeverne Hrvatskepokazuje da je Golubovec na vrijednosnojlisti svrstan među prvih dvadeset dvoraca,a to upućuje da je Golubovec jedan odnajvrjednijih hrvatskih dvoraca. Međubrojnim posebnostima vrijedno je istaknutisačuvanost dvorca, perivoja i perivojnešume, te Vilinskih poljana sa slikovitimvedutama na okolni krajolik.

Compared to many other Croatian manors,Golubovec is well-preserved. According tothe valorisation of Croatian manorscarried out on the sample of 100 manorsof Northern Croatia, Golubovec ranksamong twenty most valuable manors, aclear indication that it is one of the mostvaluable manors Croatia has. Of many ofits special features, particularly worthmentioning is the preserved state of themanor building itself, the landscapegarden, the park and the Fairy Lawns withpicturesque views of the surroundinglandscape.

Gemessen an zahlreichen anderenkroatischen Schlössern, ist Golubovec guterhalten. Eine bewertende Analyse von100 Schlössern in Nordkroatien ergibt,dass Golubovec unter den zwanzigbestbewerteten zu finden ist, waswiederum bedeutet, dass Golubovec zuden wertvollsten Schlössern Kroatienszählt. Von seinen vielen Besonderheiten istder gute Erhaltungszustand von Schloss,Schlossgarten, Schlosspark undMondscheinwiesen hervorzuheben, vondenen sich malerische Fernblicke auf dieumliegende Landschaft eröffnen.

Revitalization of Golubovec as a cultural,historical, natural, spatial, construction andeconomically sustainable unit has beenexamined within the European projectVillas, stately homes and castles:compatible use, valorisation and creativemanagement. The wider area ofGolubovec manor is planned as a cultural,tourist, sport and recreation centre withhorse stables, while the manor buildingwith 1,960 square meters of useful floorarea is to become a museum andexhibition space, a place for cultural eventsand home to catering and tourismfacilities.

Die Revitalisierung der kulturhistorischen,naturlandschaftlichen, räumlich-baulichenund wirtschaftlich nachhaltigen EinheitGolubovec soll den Vorgaben deseuropäischen Projekts Villas, stately homesand castles: compatible use, valorisationand creative management folgen.Golubovec wird großräumig alskulturtouristisches Sport- undErholungszzentrum mit Reitställenangedacht, wobei das Schloss mit seineninsgesamt 1.960 m2 Fläche Museums-,Ausstellungs- und Kulturzweckenzugeführt werden sowie gastronomischeund touristische Angebote beinhalten soll.
