Introduction
358
The drawer slide section consists of ve series with full and partial extensions in a lightweight design. They are ideal for applications in which the weight of the rail is just as important as its load capacity and rigidity.
Wide RangeStrokes available from 240mm to 1100mm.
Options• Detachable rail.• “Soft close”.
Cost-effectiveFor light - medium duty loads when a quality, reliable slide is required.
Drawer SlidesThese are pressed steel drawer slides for light/medium duty applications; they are hot-drip galvanised. They are at the lighter end of our typical telescopic slides (see separate sections) but are still very reliable and cost-effective.
Heavy Duty ApplicationsIf you have a heavier duty or very repetitive application, please refer to our Telescopic Slides. These are made from cold-drawn steel sections (rather than pressed steel).

Speci cations and Applications
359
Speci cations
• All systems are lubricated for life.• Hot-dipped galvanised steel or chromated
steel (RoHS compliant).• Zinc-plated steel or plastic ball cage. • Hardened carbon steel ball bearings.• Maximum operating speed 0,5 m/s.• Temperature range (mainly +10°C to +40°C).• Temporary storage and transport temperature
range (mainly -20°C to +80°C).• Cathodic edge protection
(additional corrosion protection with powder coating on request).
• Radial loading of the slides is recommended.• Load capacity is reduced when slides are
installed “ at” on their backs.• All load capacity gures are given for a single
slide (not per pair).• Load capacity gures are based on 100,000
cycles, uniform load distribution and the use of all xing holes to support the slide.
• Slides are friction locked in closed positions.• Not suitable for moment loads - must be
used as a pair of slides.• Recommended installation tolerance is
+0,5mm.

Technical InformationProduct Overview
Partial Extension Drawer SlidesL2000 - Partial extension with rails made of hot-dipped galvanised steel and plastic ball cages.
Detachable Drawer SlidesL2010 - Detachable internal rail which can be released with a latch. Rails are made of bright chrome-plated steel, the ball cages of steel and plastic. Friction locked in closed position.
Full Extension Drawer SlidesL2011 - Full extension with automatic retraction and damping. The automatic retraction system is assisted by a spring-loaded mechanism, for smooth full retraction to closed position.
L2012 - Full extension with rails made of hot-dipped galvanised steel and zinc-plated steel ball cages. Friction locked in closed position.
L2013 - Full extension with rails made of zinc-plated galvanised and blue passivated steel. The ball cages are made of zinc-plated steel. Heavy load end stop in opened and closed position. Friction locked in closed position.

Installation Instructions
General
• The existing internal stops are not designed to stop a moving load. They are only supposed to retain the ball-cage and prevent the internal parts from sliding out of the assembly. An external end-stop must always be installed to stop a moving load.
• To acheive optimum running movement, high service life and rigidity, x the drawer slide extensions with all accessible holes onto a rigid and level surface. When using an extension pair, please ensure the mounting surfaces are parallel, and that the assembly is rigid.
• Drawer slides can be used in automatic systems. For this, the stroke should remain constant and the extension speed must be checked. The movement of the moveable rail is enabled by internal ball cages, which may experience an offset from the original position with differing strokes. This phase offset can have a negative effect on the running properties or limit the stroke. If differing strokes occur in an application, the driving force must be suf cient to appropriately synchronise the ball cage offset. As an alternative, an extra full stroke cycle can be performed after every certain number of cycles, in order to re-phase the ball cage to its correct position.
Horizontally installed guidesHorizontally installed drawer slides can support tension or compression loads. For the horizontal mounting of slides with compression loads, please take the following conditions into account:
• The Hertzian stress of the balls is no longer effective due to the expansion of the rail pro le.
• The nominal tension tolerance of +0,5mm is eliminated due to the installation con guration.
Both the above mentioned conditions contribute to a signi cant reduction of the axial load capacity. Horizontally-mounted rails (axial load) also exhibit a considerably higher de ection at the extended tips if compared to traditionally vertically mounted rails (radial load).

Vertical InstallationThe load capacities are guidelines for a drawer slide vertically mounted with uniform load distribution, and xed to the structures using all mounting holes. The load values must be reduced if the load is not distributed evenly.
Horizontal InstallationFor horizontal mounted drawer slides the load capacity is reduced by approximately 50-60.
SpeedThe extension speed is determined by the size of the moveable parts of the drawer slides. Therefore, the maximum extension speed is inversely proportional to the overall length of the extending rails. The maximum extension speed is also directly related to the applied load and operating time. The data refers to continuous operation at maximum load capacity.

TemperatureThe operating temperature range of the drawer slides is +0 to +0. Temporary storage and transport temperature is -0 to +0 maximum.
LubricationAll drawer slides are lubricated for life. Different lubricants for special applications are available on reuest, e.g. lubricant with FDA approval is available for use in the food industry. For more information on this, please contact our Technical Department.
Corrosion ProtectionThe base material for the drawer slide product family is cold-rolled, hot-dipped galvanised steel. The cathodic edge protection offers a good combination of uality and cost-ef ciency. The surface protection conforms to oH.
