THE TRIPLE J GROUP OF COMPANIES!

IT BEGAN IN 1984!

Triple J Enterprises started operation as a small auto dealership in 1984 when Robert H. Jones signed an agreement with his oldest brother, the late Kenneth T. Jones, Jr. to buy the Subaru franchise. Robert Jones had by that time worked for 24 years with Jones & Guerrero Inc., the company founded by his brother. !

The genesis of the Triple J Enterprises name came from the first initials of Robert and Margaret Jones’ offsprings –– Jeff, Julie and Jay. When the company was first formed, Robert Jones sought the help of his oldest sister, Georgia Jones Stafford who provided some financial assistance and role as a buyer. Margaret Jones also played several contributing roles in the early years of the corporation as a buyer, advertising and public relations manager and company treasurer, a position she still retains to today. In the beginning, Georgia Stafford was worried about her brother spreading himself too thin. But her concern was replaced with admiration and confidence as the small startup enterprise which began with Subaru vehicles, Hino trucks and Bluebird buses, soon grew very rapidly to become one of the most successful corporations in Guam, CNMI and Micronesia. Triple J Saipan Inc. was formed in 1985, followed by the acquisition of a freight forwarding operation, Mighal International doing business as Triple J Merchant Services in San Leandro, California, and soon after, formation of Triple J Wholesale Foods in the Marshall Islands and Saipan. !

By its 20th year in 2004, Triple J Enterprises’ diverse portfolio included wholesale food distribution businesses in Guam, Saipan, the Marshall Islands and Palau; new distributorships of vehicle brands namely Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Suzuki; the Ford and Mazda dealerships; after-market tire, lubricants, commercial truck and bus tire businesses; real estate development and land brokerage business; and the start of its restaurant division with the purchase of the Outback Steakhouse franchise. The group’s revenue had reached close to $90 million in 2004. In that same year, the company broke ground on its 50,000-square foot, $13 million new corporate head office and Triple J Motors main showroom and full service center. !

In the past 10 years, Triple J Enterprises was appointed official distributor of Kia Motors for Guam and Micronesia; added Honda and Acura brands to its car distribution business; opened its new corporate and main showroom building in front of Kmart in 2006 as well as the new Honda and Acura showroom in Tamuning; and acquired franchise rights for the Hertz Rent-A-Car brand in Micronesia. Solahart, a leading brand in hot water systems, was added to the Triple J Enterprises’ long list of distributorships in 2007. In its restaurant group, the company holds the franchise for Capricciosa and Tony Roma’s in Saipan and Truong’s Vietnamese restaurant in Saipan. Triple J’s real estate division is a full-service brokerage house specializing in development, property management, commercial sales, leasing and residential sales. The real estate group assets include properties in Guam, Saipan, Majuro, Pohnpei, North Carolina, Japan and the Marshall Islands. !

As Triple J Enterprises celebrates its 30th Anniversary in 2014, the Jones family and their employees can take pride that the Triple J brand has become a household name from the sustained support of the communities which the various Triple J businesses have served with passion and great care since its humble beginnings. !

THREE DECADES OF PUTTING OUR “CUSTOMERS FIRST”!

“Customers First” is more than just a marketing tagline framing the license plates of cars from Triple J Motors that drivers in Micronesia readily recognize. It is a maxim that has guided Triple J Enterprises, a top ten-ranked corporation in the annual Guam Business magazine Top Companies survey, in its 30 years of existence. !

It takes commitment.!The commitment which the Triple J group of companies puts behind the simple two-word motto is best explained by Robert H. Jones, company founder, chairman and chief executive officer, “Everyone talks about quality, but at Triple J, our belief is that [when] you put customers first in your business model, you will probably realize your desired results in growth and with the bottom line.” It is a reasoning that has proven all too true as Triple J Enterprises celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year as a $130-million, 650-staff strong operation spanning six geographic regions and a partner with more than 30 global brands. With its corporate headquarters based in Guam, the Group has holdings and operations in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, especially in Saipan, the Marshall Islands and Palau. From its concentration in Micronesia, Triple J Enterprises has also expanded its interests into the U.S. mainland in California and North Carolina and into Shanghai, China and Hakuba, Japan. !

Our driving force.!Along the path to present day success, Triple J Enterprises has never forgotten the very communities and people who have helped the company prosper. Its “Customers First” philosophy extends to the Group’s community involvement and contributions, whether in financial support or in-kind donation of services and products, to a myriad of nonprofit organizations. !

Humble beginnings.!From a humble, single auto brand franchise in 1984 to its present-day stature as one of the region’s most successful corporations, the management and staff of Triple J are stalwart in abiding to the “Customers First” motto for they recognize that it is the customers who have brought the various businesses to where they are today – a diversified, prosperous group of companies serving Guam and Micronesia, and foreseeably beyond to other shores. !

THE TRIPLE J GROUP OF COMPANIES!

Growing to meet the needs of our communities.!From a small one-brand, family business operation, Triple J Enterprises has grown over the years to a sophisticated group of companies with subsidiaries throughout Micronesia. !

Led by Robert H. Jones’ entrepreneurial astuteness, Triple J has invested in a wide variety of business interests outside the automotive field. With a reputation for business integrity and perseverance, coupled with the talents, tenacity and community dedication of the Jones family and a hardworking assembly of management and staff, it comes as no surprise that Triple J Enterprises has been consistently ranked among the top 50 companies in Micronesia.!

Motors!Triple J Motors continues to be the flagship company of the group, with a stellar reputation in Guam and Saipan. Its distributorships of cars, SUVs, trucks and commercial vehicles include global brand names such as Ford, Honda, Acura, Lincoln, Mazda, Volvo, Kia, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Hyundai, complemented by its parts and service departments staffed by highly trained and certified auto mechanics. Synergistic with its automobile dealership business is Triple J’s Commercial Tire and Battery Center which distributes top brands of tires for passenger and commercial vehicles such as BF Goodrich, Yokohama, Michelin and Kumho. Buoyed by the upswing of the tourism industry in the region in the mid-2000s, Triple J was awarded the area franchise of Hertz Rent-A-Car in Guam, Saipan and Palau. The Hertz franchise offers one of the largest fleets of rental cars for short and long-term leasing. !

Food and Restaurant!Other divisions of the group have also helped to keep the Triple J brand top of mind among its trade and retail customers. In the food division, Triple J Five Star Wholesale Foods operates the wholesale food distribution business in various geographies of Micronesia. The wholesale food distribution business counts among its trade customers several of Guam’s and Saipan’s top hotels, restaurants and retail grocery stores. Triple J also has had presence in the retail grocery store business in the Marshall Islands for 27 years. Triple J Restaurant Group operates popular restaurant franchises such as Outback Steakhouse in Guam, Capricciosa and Tony Roma’s in Saipan, as well as Truong’s Vietnamese restaurants in Saipan. !

DOING BUSINESS WITH US!

Page 5: Downloadable Corporate Portfolio

Logistics !Doing business with Triple J also affords its partners outstanding air, sea and overland rail and truck transport solutions through the company’s Northern California-based freight forwarding subsidiary, Mighal International Inc doing business as Triple J Merchant Services. Located in San Leandro, Triple J Merchant Services serves as a distribution center for merchandise shipping to the various Triple J subsidiaries and branches in Guam, CNMI and the rest of Micronesia. The distribution services provide a way to receive goods in a timely manner and to import container loads of products directly. !

Real Estate!Another benefit of setting up a close business alliance with Triple J is the access to the wealth of knowledge of local market conditions from its real estate consulting and brokerage subsidiary. Robert Jones had a hand in initiating the discussion that introduced and eventually brought Kmart to open on Guam in 1996. Triple J real estate division’s expertise and knowledge about U.S. federal and local government housing programs provided the company the foundation to enter the affordable residential development business. In 2010, through the U.S. Treasury’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, Triple J collaborated with IHP Saipan to develop Sandy Beach Homes. The 60-unit beach front housing community is the first affordable housing project in Saipan for low-income families. Triple J Enterprises also began the groundwork for the 80-unit Blue Water Homes, the second affordable residential property development in Saipan in 2014. Triple J’s real estate arm is exploring other property development opportunities that will benefit the communities where the group is deeply rooted and committed to. !

Building an alliance with a group you can trust.!Choosing to partner with Triple J Enterprises means gaining the benefit of decades of business expertise, local presence and operational knowledge of a vast region that is Micronesia. In addition to its strong entrepreneurial know-how, Triple J Enterprises has invested significantly in skills training of its workforce, modern management systems and processes. Whether a business comes in as an investment partner or joint operator, it will have the advantage of access to across-the-board transportation, food, restaurant, distribution and real estate expertise under one umbrella.!
