Guests are just arriving at the hotel lobby. A member of the hotel’s reception personnel is checking them in, making a note of their special requests (room temperature, food preferences, etc.) and unlocking their in-room telephones.

A nice couple enters their room, room no. 21 to be exact. Although exhausted from a long trip, they notice their room is cooled to a pleasant temperature, the cutains are drawn and quiet music gives them the comfortable feeling of a home-like environment.

She notices a welcome message on their TV set, greeting them and wishing them a pleasant stay at the hotel.

Eager to let their friends know they have arrived safely, they send an e-mail via the TV set, enclosing a link to the hotel golf-course photos they noticed on the hotel information portal.

After that they let the reception know they will take a nap, and so all their calls should be transferred to their voice mail.

After her nap she notices a tiny message-waiting indicator on the room telephone.

Her office is letting her know that she accidentally left anold version of some documentation at the office and sheurgently needs to send them an updated one.

Luckily, she carries a laptop with her, even though this is not a business trip.

Instantly, although her husband is not pleased, she turns the hotel room into an office. In a few minutes she connects toher corporate network through the hotel’s WLAN and sends the updated documentation by e-mail.

In the meantime, her husband checks the latest basketball results on the TV sports channel.

He finds a nice restaurant in the old part of town over thehotel TV portal using a wireless keyboard and remote control. They leave for dinner as soon as she finishes her work.

Hosted hospitality service delivery: SI3000 MHS in a Hotel Chain

Iskratel SI3000 MHS solution is an appropriate hosting solution for Triple Play service delivery in dispersed locations. Usually, this type of solution is deployed for large number of guest rooms located in various hotels within a single hotel chain.

For large scale deployments, the Iskratel SI3000 MSAP product family is used to provide:

- Backbone infrastructure (optical ring)- Access network for hotel rooms- xDSL over existing copper cabling infrastructure- Centralized voice services for hotel staff and hotel guests

In large scale deployments several multimedia servers are installed at the central location (hotel or service provider’s CO). Servers are installed as different nodes (for streaming services, web services). The common server infrastructure is used for hosting multimedia services in several different hotels.

Services for anybody anytime.

SI3000 MHS Deployment in an Existing Hotel Buliding

Widely used copper pair cable infrastructure is an appropriate way to provide rich multimedia services in an existing hotel building. The widened range of use – a result of infrastructure upgrade with the SI3000 MHS is especially useful in cases where the building owner needs to preserve the existing hotel envi-ronment. The solution does not require any cabling upgrades.

SI3000 MHS Deployment in a newly built hotel building

A fiber optic-based infrastructure is the optimal choice for de-signing a multimedia service delivery infrastructure in a hotel building.

In such a scenario, the multimedia server may be installed both – inside the hotel or at the service provider’s location.

Locating the SI3000 MHS equipment

The SI3000 MHS multimedia equipment may be installed inside the hotel building or at the location of the solution operator using the distributed solution architecture. In case of a local server deployment (standard stand-alone solution) all services are delivered over the hotel LAN infrastructure.

The second available option is the installation of multimedia server at the hotel chain central equipment room or hospitality solution operator premises. In this case, all services are delivered over WAN and hotel LAN infrastructure.
