STEP BY STEP CREATION OF NEW PUBLIC SPACE WITH BURO CITE

1. Schedule of requirementsTogether we define the requirements regarding functionality, safety, design, sustainability, manageability, and financial feasibility.

2. SketchingTaking the schedule of requirements into account we explore possible solutions by sketching.

3. ResearchWe inspect the project location, deliver elevation surveys, and apply for the necessary permits. We identify the location of cables and pipelines and do necessary research and calculations.

4. DesignUsing the results of the research, the chosen sketch is developed into a technical design. We also draw up a maintenance management plan.

5. Contract specificationsBased on the design, contract specifications are drawn up in compliance with the ‘RAW’ system.

6. Procurement and constructionTogether we organize a restricted or public (EU) tender process. When contracts are awarded based on the "most economically advantageous" bid we propose the criteria and method to evaluate the bids. During construction we can supervise the project using the UAV2012 administration system.

7. Use, management and maintenance Regular maintenance is essential to ensure that the redeveloped public space remains functional and safe during it’s intended life cycle. For this purpose we propose a package of measures for (parts of) the location.

Development of the “De Velden” district (Netherlands)Integral ground elevation of a residential area (both public space and private land) in Schiedam. A lightweight material (EPS) was used as an embankment fill. Buro CITE provided the design and contract specifications operating from a project team, which included Schiedam city council.

The Duinweg - Piet Hein Square roundabout (Netherlands)Construction of a roundabout in Noordwijk where the main route to the beach area meets an access road to a residential area. Buro CITE was commissioned by the city council of Noordwijk to provide design and specifications.

Redevelopment of the Kapitein De Rijkstraat square (Netherlands)Redevelopment of this public space to a multipurpose square to create an vibrant space which is used by the public. Buro CITE was responsible for delivering design and specifications, tendering and contract supervision for the The Hague city council

Bridge over the Saramacca Canal (Surinam)Creation of an alternative north-south link to relieve the pressure on the congested existing routes. Buro CITE provided engineering and contract supervision for the Ministry of Public Works.

River dikes at Commewijne and Albina (Surinam)The raising of the existing river dikes, with an average of 55 cm, to withstand sea level rise over the next 15 years. Buro CITE was responsible for the design and supervision on behalf of the Ministry of Public Works.
