New Innovation/ Initiatives for enhancing Agriculture Production
To get the foodgrain production
The Department adopted System of Rice Intensification (SRI)- a new rice production technology as recommended by the Directorate of Rice Research (DRR), Hyderabad and Directorate of Rice Development, Patna, Govt. of India.
Multiple Cropping – with a rice based cropping pattern of Rice – Rice – Mustard/Pea/Potato were taken of.
Wheat based cropping system of Rice – Soybean/Ricebean – Wheat introduced
Seed Replacement for all crops increased.
Soil health management – through liming initiated.
Introduction & Popularisation of Organic Farming in all the districts will be initiated

Production Enhancement Initiatives
• Establishment FFS on large Scale and also large scale
demonstration on Production/Production Technology (at least
one demonstration per village)• Transfer of technology on large scale through Extension
Functionaries/Progressive farmers/ ATMA• Promotion of hybrid paddy through SRI and composite
nurseries.• Availability of certified seeds so as to increase SRR• Reclamation of acid soil for sustainable agriculture
9
Production Enhancement Initiatives
• Promotion of pulses in upland paddy area and other fallow land .
• Popularisation of Zero tillage of pea cultivation in the valley areas
• To bring large areas under Zero tillage on mustard on the rice fallow land.
• Farm ponds under RKVY and NFSM .
10
Future Prospects for Food grain production
• The Department of Agriculture review the strategy for sustaining the present level of Agriculture Growth in each meeting.
• Crop Loan/KCC through NABARD
• State Govt. establishing Custom Service Centers
• Micro Irrigation for pulse production
• Buffer stocking of fertilizers
• Strengthening of Seed Certification Programme11
Future Prospects for Food grain production• 50% of area under paddy cultivation to be brought under SRI
during next 2 years.( from the present level of 35,000 ha to 75,000ha)
• Area under hybrid Maize to be increased by 20% in the next Kharif season by providing 90% subsidy to SC/ST farmers.
• Intensive planning for promotion of summer Moong, Urad and maize
• Establishment of State Agriculture marketing Board
• Soil Testing Lab to be established at all the Divisional Head Quarters to ensure quality of inputs.
• Mobile Soil Testing Van facility will be available in all districts
