ABOUT THE TURKISH LIGHTING INDUSTRY
Development of Lighting sector in Turkey first began with the production of transparent bulb and fluorescent during 1960s. And the pro-duction of fixture, ballast and other compo-nents and secondary parts and any Lighting tools started in the following years. An im-portant development has been obtained in the production of conventional and mechan-ical Lighting equipment. A new and differ-ent development has existed in the Lighting equipment industry in Turkey since 2000s.
Liberalization in the world trade, competition in imported products, especially in China and technological developments in Lighting sec-tor shaped the developments after 2000s Turkish Lighting equipment industry under-went a transportation during 2000s and thus became obligated to give up on the produc-tion of transparent bulbs; and a fixture-pro-duction oriented structure focusing on the electronic applications in the industry was launched. Furthermore, while the production in Lighting field for motor land vehicles was growing rapidly, production of high added value functional and decorative Lighting tools
was focused on.

DOMESTIC MARKET SIZE OF THE TURKISH LIGHTING
INDUSTRYDomestic market size of Lighting equipment was 2,45 billion dollars in 2013; and it reached to 2,59 billion dollars in 2014. While the domes-tic market grew in real terms during 2015 and 2016, it contracted in dol-lar terms. The domestic market expe-rienced a fast growth in 2017 in real terms and despite the depreciation of the Turkish lira, it expanded to 2,31 billion dollars. Domestic market con-tracted in 2018 in real terms and it shrank to 1,94 billion dollars. Today it is estimated more than 2 billion
dollars.

Optical, thermal, mechanical and electrical designs are performed within Pelsan by the R&D department running with strong en-gineer staff. Again all lighting products are certified with the Lighting Laboratory that has been established internally and registered upon accreditation by Turkish Accreditation Institution. Pelsan, with all these facilities owned, has shifted also to LED technology that has been developing and spreading recently, and started to produce efficient fixtures complying to this technology.
Main product groups of Pelsan Aydınlatma, offering venue specific project design and lighting design with total saving approach, are Interior Lighting, Exterior Lighting, Indus-trial Lighting, Equipment and Lamps.
Lighting products manufactured are de-livered to customers through the dealer network spread around Turkey and, chain stores, TEDAŞ, OEM, export and projects.
