Key Parent Questions1. Parental Controls – WHAT Apps and HOW!
• We would love to learn how to do internet parent controls better. Currently our sixth grader basically has lock down of all internet access; she can[?]t even get onto to websites such as dictionary.com for example. Thanks!
• I am interested in learning how to set up the most efficient parental controls on their devices.
• Which apps are the best to monitor and how do I set them up?
• How do you block certain apps from kids?
• Can most routers identify specific devices (tablet, phone) and deny internet access at certain times? (e.g. after 11pm on weeknights, etc.)?
2. Gaming – Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, Call of Duty – how do you manage especially with games where our kids can play with strangers? Is there a way to block?
• Help me navigate the interactive games like Roblox where strangers can come in
• My son loves Minecraft and wants to play on platforms with other users. I heard you can invite friends to play with you and not the general public but I have no clue. What is the best way to educate myself as a parent? What are the available resources?
3. Social Media - Appropriate age for children to play games on iPads or phones that connect to other people.
4. Porn/Adult Content – How to Block AND have the discussion with kids???
5. Balance - How do you balance all the screen time? If they have homework and then play games on their phones even if they don't have access to tv or PS$ (video games) they are still on screens all the time!
6. Gaming - How can I manage Xbox time when I[?]m not home? Is there an app to put the Xbox on a timer??
