ONE: DIFFERENT KINDS OF QR CODESThe Kaywa QR Code Family includes two type of codes: Online and Offline Codes.
ONLINE CODES: Online Codes point to an internet address and require an internet connection. Kaywa has three sorts of online QR Codes: Short Code, URL, and Short Code URL. The best choice is certainly the Short Code URL, as it can be read by all QR Code Readers worldwide and offers relevant statistical data (see page 6).
OFFLINE CODES: Offline Codes do not need an internet connection (= data traffic costs) and are directly resolved on the phone. You can encode things like addresses, text, SMS and telephone numbers.

TWO: GENERATING CODESQR CODES can be generated online on these websites:
For professional and commercial use:
http://api.qrcode.kaywa.com or http://mobiletags.kaywa.com
For free use:
http://qrcode.kaywa.com CODE SIZES: CODES SIZES: Minimum display sizes for QR Codes to be read with the Kaywa Reader vary between 2.5 x 2.5 cm for Short Codes and 3.2 x 3.2 cm for Short Code URLs and URLs. 90% of the supported phones read smaller codes (1.9 cm instead of 2.5, 2.6 instead of 3.2), but if possible, keep the size as indicated.Mobile phones in Japan can handle much smaller sizes due to better camera resolution and macros. The rapid evolution of western cameras phones will make it possible in the near future to have similar sizes as the Japanese
THE QUIET ZONE: For optimum readability we recommend a «quiet» area of 4 modules around the code. A module is the smallest pixel element of a QR Code. For most phones a smaller quiet zone of 2 modules will work, but 4 modules are required in the official documentation.
THREE: READING CODESA) INPUT METHODS The information encoded in a QR-Code can be accessed in several ways. The most convenient one is scanning the code with a camera phone, using a scanning software such as Kaywa Reader. Alternatively, you can type the Short Code in your Kaywa Reader or send QR followed by the Short Code to a dedicated SMS number.

INCLUDED: Live statisticsEvery commercial solution includes live QR-Code statistics. That way, the success of the campaign can be followed in realtime.
※ The professional encoding platforms have different customer levels. A customer with a higher level can himself open accounts for other customers. Whereas the low level customer only sees his campaigns, codes and statistics, the customer on the higher level sees all his customers doings too.
