TASK 1: Match the Spanish routine verbs on the left column with the English words on the right side. You must write both languages. 10 minutes on this J

Routines normally take place at the same time everyday, so how do we ask people at what time they do something?

TASK 2: Find the correct answer for each question. 10 minutes on this J

Me relajo a las cinco de la tarde.

Me ducho a las 6 y diez de la mañana.

Me acuesto a las nueve y media de la noche.

Desayuno a las siete y cuarto.

Voy al instituto a las ocho menos veinte con mi hermano.

Me despierto a las seis menos diez de la mañana.

¿A qué hora te despiertas?

¿A qué hora te duchas?

¿A qué hora desayunas?

¿A qué hora vas al instituto?

¿A qué hora te relajas?

¿A qué hora te acuestas?

Answers:Questions:

TASK 3: Translate the sentences from last slide.

1. Me relajo a las cinco de la tarde.

2. Me ducho a las 6 y diez de la mañana.

3. Me acuesto a las nueve y media de la noche.

4. Desayuno a las siete y cuarto.

5. Voy al instituto a las ocho menos veinte con mi hermano.

6. Me despierto a las seis menos diez de la mañana.

10 minutes on this J

Support: Remember: a las

means at. Eg: A las siete = at 7

Por la mañana normalmente me despierto a las siete y

media. Luego me ducho y me visto. Siempre desayuno

con mi familia y voy al colegio a las ocho en punto.

Vuelvo a casa a las cinco y cuarto y por la tarde me relajo

en mi casa. Luego ceno con mis padres y después hago

los deberes. Finalmente me acuesto a las diez.

TASK 4: Read Inma’s paragraph about her daily routine and answer the questions in English.

10 minutes on this J

1. What time does she wake up?

2. Who does she have breakfast with?

3. What time does she go to school?

4. What time does she go back home?

5. What does she do in the afternoon?

6. What does she do after dinner?

7. What time does she go to bed?

Challenge:Find the meaning of unknown words

and write them in your book.

When talking about someone else’s routines, instead of using “me” in front of the reflexive verb, weuse “se”, to indicate that he or she is doing the action.

TASK 5: Look at the pictures and the times and create sentences talking about other people’sroutines. Follow the model of the example.

Example:

Wakes up – 8:00

10 minutes on this J

Takes a bath – 9:30 Brushes teeth – 7:45 Combs hair – 6:30 Takes shower – 10:00 Relaxes – 8:10 Goes to bed– 11:15

Se despierta a las 8 en puntoChallenge:

Indicate if they do the activities in the morning (por la mañana), in the

afternoon (por la tarde) or in theevening (por la noche)

Your paragraph needs to give an answer to these questions:1. ¿A qué hora te despiertas normalmente un día de colegio? (What time do you normally wake up on a school day?)2. ¿A qué hora te levantas? (What time do you get up?)3. ¿A qué hora te duchas? (What time do you take a shower?)4. ¿A qué hora desayunas? (What time do you have breakfast?)5. ¿A qué hora vas al instituto? (What time do you go to school)6. ¿A qué hora vuelves a casa? (What time do you go back home)7. ¿A qué hora te acuestas? (What time do you go to sleep?)

You must: Include reflexives, adverbs of frequency and times.E.g. A las siete (at 7 o’clock) me levanto y a las ocho y media me ducho. Después me visto y desayuno. Luego voy al colegio a las ocho menos cuarto.

Adverbs of frequency:

Normalmente- normally

Primero- first

Por la mañana- in the morning

Por la tarde- in the afternoon

Después- after

También- also

Luego- later

Challenge: use the reflexives to describe what your brother/ sister does. Eg. Mi hermana se levanta a

las ocho y se ducha a las ocho y diez.

TASK 6: Write a paragraph (40-50 words) describing your daily routine. Include the vocabulary you’veseen on Wednesday and today. Remember that you’re writing a paragraph, therefore your sentences

need to be linked. 15 minutes on this J

You have completed the lesson for today!
