FAQ’s
1. How do I know when to move up or down in pitch? - Check where the note is on the stave (lines) and work out if
it is above or below the note you just played- if it is above it is higher, if it is below it is lower
2. Which is higher, the chords or the melody?
- The melody should be higher pitch (right hand) and the chords should be lower pitch (left hand)
3. What’s the quickest way to learn a piece of music? - Break the music up into smaller sections for yourself so you
can focus on smaller chunks rather than attempting the whole thing in one go and getting stuck/lost. Once you have learnt a section, try the next section, then go back and put
the 2 sections together (and so on…)
4. How do I play with both hands at the same time? - Practise! It is hard work at first; practise each part
individually until you are really confident with them, then try and put them together.
5. How do I play it without having to stop and pause all
the time? -again, this one comes with practise. Spend time focusing on the areas you find difficult before trying to play the piece of
music the whole way through.
