In this new musical by Denver Casado and Betina Hershey, MUSICVILLE takes you on anadventure with Maiden Melody and Radical Rhythm as they attempt to save their town fromthe Sorcerer of Silence. On their quest to the Castle of Composition, they pass through theDesert of Doo-wop, the Ocean of Opera, and the Terrible Terrain of Tango, meeting musical

friends and foes along the way. Their journey teaches them about new kinds of music,overcoming obstacles, and the importance of working together. Musicville is presented

August 2-6 $85 Grades: K-12After a long and socaially distanced year, the students of theNorth American School for the Magical Arts are ready for ALLfun, ALL games, NO screens, and NO homework! Spend the

week playtesting games you can only find at the George DailyYouth Theatre. Help us design games and then break them sothat we can build them back better! Our showcase this week

will feature a rousing game of North American Qudditch.

How did the supercomputer Deep Thought come up with "42"as the answer to the "Great Question" of "Life, the Universe,

and Everything?" Improv, of course! Travel through the galaxycollecting the "Who, What, Where's" for the next Hitchhiker's

Guidebook! Build your team, listen and respond, make active choices, and don't force the humor! You never know what the universe will provide.

Morning Yonder

Monday - Friday Mornings from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.

The time just before camp is the Morning Yonder. We'll focus on creative activities that help us getready for the day. Maybe we'll do some creative

writing, drawing, or work as a group to help finishsomeone's song-in-process. Whatever we can do to

start the brain up for an awesome day at theatre camp.

Do you have a passion for advancing your skills in the performing arts? Every week,campers will have the opportunity to work on the Advanced Skills Track - breakout

sessions designed to develop our future performing arts leaders. Focusing on techniquesand methods, these groups will work separately to create an Advanced Skills showcase

for the end of the week.All Advanced Skills Tracks are included in the camp week at no extra cost.

If you would rather be focusing a light, mixing sound, or building a set piece, welcome to the Tech Skills Track! Our Tech Skills Track is the best opportunity to

begin learning to use the sound and lighting instruments at the Auditorium. At specificpoints in each week, break out from the rest of camp to work on the technical needs

for the showcase performance.All Tech Skills Tracks are included in the camp week at no extra cost.

It's never too early to start building your theatreresume! Our High School Internship program is forhigh school students who want to focus on theirleadership skills. Students in the HSI program will

learn and practice facilitating games and basicdirecting methods, as well as being good role models

for younger campers.

It is free to be an HSI, but we have limited slots each week. Schedule your intern now!

Afternoon Yonder

Monday - Thursday Afternoons from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

For campers and families that need that extra hour after camp,there is the Afternoon Yonder. During this time, we'll play testgames, help campers memorize lines, or just find some quiet

time to play with cups and let the day wind down.Please schedule all Yonder Sessions with our Education

Director after you've registered for camp.

A week-long single session is $20 per week per family for the morning or the afternoon.

The week-long rate for both sessions is $40 per week per family for both morning and afternoon.

Single-day Yonder Sessions will be $10 per session (morning or afternoon), per family.

Andy McGuire

Education Director, Lead Teacher

This is Andy's 9th summer as the EducationDirector of the Youth Theatre and his 13th yearin the Theatre Education field. Since graduating

from Central College in 2010, he's taughttheatre in Des Moines, St Paul, and Chicago.

He is the current Stage Director for the WilliamPenn University Theatre Department.

Allison McGuire

Music Education Director, Lead Teacher

This is Allison's 9th summer working with theYouth Theatre. She has her Masters in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before moving to Oskaloosa, Allisondirected opera and taught theatre and musicaround the country with companies like theLyric Opera of Chicago, Opera Omaha, and

Opera North in New Hampshire.

Jason Tipsword

Directing/Technical Advisor, Lead Teacher

This is Jason's 9th summer working with theYouth Theatre. He is a Society of AmericaFight Directors Certified Stage Combat

Teacher and an accomplished director. Jasoncurrently teaches stage combat and theatre

at the University of Iowa. He has assistedwith many George Daily Auditorium projectsincluding summer camps, HOME AGAIN, and

stage combat workshops.

The StaffThe Staff

All campers need to wear shoes that keep their toes and heelsenclosed (like tennis shoes or boots.)All campers need to wear/bring a mask that covers their mouthand nose.

We have extras if you need one for the day.When possible, elements of camp will be held outdoors toprovide mask breaks.

Campers need to bring a sack lunch with them each day to camp.The Summer Lunch Program will NOT be offered with campthis year.NO microwave is available for sack lunches.

There are two breaks beyond the lunch break.Campers are invited to bring snacks for the two breaks.Because of allergies, campers are NOT allowed to share snacks.The Youth Theatre does NOT provide snacks.

Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.Sign-in starts at 8:45 a.m.

Any campers arriving earlier than 8:45 a.m. will beconsidered part of Morning Yonder.

Sign-out ends at 4:15 p.m.Any campers staying after 4:15 p.m. will be considered partof Afternoon Yonder.

Morning Yonder/Afternoon Yonder adds a $10 charge per half-hour when a camper arrives early or is picked up late. For thebest rate, please schedule this with Andy prior to participatingin either program.Scholarship aid is available!

Families can now register and pay for camp online! This year, thediscount codes can be applied during the online registration process.These discount amounts have previously been available for campers
