a Saturday night!

You can also book during our regular open hours at a Premium Rate, starting at $200/hour in addition to the

standard Room Rental Fees.

Cash Bar -Your guests purchase their own drinks and pay at the counter.

Open Bar - Your guests place their orders on a tab which you will pay for at the conclusion of your event.

Drink Tickets $3.00 NON ALCOHOLIC $6.50 ALCOHOLIC

You pay for a set number of alcoholic or non alcoholic drink tickets which are redeemable at your event for the above drinks of the appropriate category. Charges are based on the number of tickets issued not based on the number of tickets collected; It is up to you and your guests to make sure that your redeem your tickets.

lOcaTiON aNd parKING

The Cafe is located in the heart of Guelph at 8 Douglas

Street. On street parking is often available on any of the

nearby streets, and is free after 6pm.

If no street parking is available, the nearby Baker Street

parking lot is also free from 6pm (excluding some special

occasions).

Covered parking is available at the nearby West Parkade,

from where you can walk through the Old Quebec Street

mall to arrive just off of Douglas Street without having to

walk outside.

All event bookings must be arranged by email at [email protected]. The Event Manager does not take

phone calls at the cafe except by appointment.

reGUlar HOurs

The cafe is open daily so come by and visit the space prior to your event.

Monday 8am–5pm Tuesday-Thursday 8am–9pm Friday 8am–11pm Saturday 8am–5pm Sunday 10am–5pm

venUE layOut

During normal cafe hours, our space is set up to maximize seating and allow our servers to access each of the

tables. Prior to the start of your event, we will arrange the space into either the “Room to Mingle” layout or the

“Seated for Presentation” layout.

Terms aNd cOnDItIOnsdepOsiTs A lot of work goes into booking and preparing for your event, and it is necessary to ask for a non-refundable

deposit to hold the space for you. The deposit amount due is equal to the full Room Rental Fee + the Premium

Rate (for bookings during our open hours). This payment is due immediately upon completion of the Event

Information Form, and can be paid in person by cash, debit, or credit or paid online by e-transfer to our book

keeper, Lisa Patterson at Royal City Bookkeeping ([email protected]). Make sure to include “Red Brick Cafe Private

Event” plus the name of your organization and the date of your private event in the e-transfer.

cancEllaTiONs Once the Event Information Form is submitted, and the deposit is received, payment is final. We will not

refund your deposit in the event of a cancellation. However, we can move your event to a different date as

long as we receive at least 10 business days notice. We do not charge any additional cancellation fees.

fOOD aNd BeveraGe pOlicy We do offer a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres but if you would like something different, you may hire

an outside caterer. If you plan to do so, please let us know on your Event Information Form. Absolutely no

outside drinks are allowed.

Alcoholic beverages will be served in accordance with the laws set by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission

of Ontario. No alcoholic beverages can be brought onto or taken out of our licensed establishment. In keeping

with the law, all alcoholic beverages consumed at your event must be purchased through the Red Brick Cafe

on our liquor license.

Servers may check the ID of anyone who appears under the age of 25 years. The legal drinking age is 19.

Guests that attempt to circumvent these laws will be cut off and may be asked to leave the premises.

fOOD aNd BeveraGe minimUm pUrcHase A guaranteed minimum purchase of $350 is required to complete your booking. If you hire an outside caterer, we

recommend purchasing drink tickets to meet the minimum purchase requirement.

Taxes All prices quoted are subject to 13% HST.

GratuiTiEs

All food and beverage purchases will be subject to a 20% gratuity. Please note that this gratuity is not based

on the room rental fees.

damaGes

You are responsible for any property damage resulting directly or indirectly from you or any of your guests

while on the premises. A minimum $500 fee will be charged for any major damage to the premises or any of

its contents.

GUaraNTeED nUmbErs aNd BillING

The guaranteed number of attendees is required as part of the Event Information Form. If you have fewer

guests than expected, you will be charged Room Rental Fees based on the number of guests indicated

on the Event Information Form. An invoice will be provided for your records upon submission of the Event

Information Form. The outstanding balance must be paid prior to the night of the event. The Red Brick Cafe

accepts cash, debit, and credit payments.

If you have selected an open bar for your event, your bar tab must be paid at the conclusion of your event,

and a 20% automatic gratuity will be applied.

EVENT seTUp

After we close the cafe at 5pm, it will take us a full hour to turn over the cafe and set up for your event. You or

your representative may arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your event start time to perform any of your

own last-minute setup and to greet your guests.

We will arrange the space for you and set up the sound system if you have requested it. We are responsible

for setting up the space. You are only required to set up your own decorations.

If you have an audio device that you would like to use for music during the event, any device with a standard

headphone jack can be plugged into our house speakers at no additional charge.

For bookings during our regular open hours, we will close the cafe and begin setup 1 hour prior to the start of

your event.

decOraTiONs

Glue, nails, tape, etc. are not allowed. Free-standing decorations such as pull-up banners, sandwich boards,

and flowers are acceptable.

EVENT Tear-dOWN

We will clean and reset the event space after your event. You are only responsible for removing your own

belongings. Unless there is excessive mess or damage to the property, there is no additional cleaning fee.
