WALT: retrieve, record and present information from non-fiction

Today we are going to practise our reading skills using a non-fiction text. You will read a short non-chronological report then choose a level of questions to answer (practise, stretch or challenge).

These questions all require you to find two examples of evidence from the text.

Then you need to choose a suitable title for the non-chronological report you have just read.

WALT: identify features of a non-chronological report.

This week we are going to remind ourselves what is needed to write a good non-chronological report.

What features are required?

Can you remember any technical language to describe the features?

What format should it take?

What would you see in a non-chronological report writing toolkit?

Scan these

reports and list as many features as you can remember.

You do not need to read everything!
