GOODFASTCHEAP

Please choose twoFASTERGREAT

the familiar equation that no one can avoid in our industry.

at AKQA we never settle for less than great, so were down to two

we compete for talent at Google, Apple, Airbnb, Facebook therefore its tough to be cheap, which leaves us with

working faster than ever. especially with all the pressures within the industry to work fast as well.

GOODFASTDO IT FASTERKEEP IT GREAT

which is what i want to share today. what strategies have we devised to combat this ever growing need to deliver and act faster

PRESSURES FOR FASTER

procurement is ever more powerful, and impacting business. in some clients asking for 10-15% reduction in budget in 2016.

spencer stuart study march 2016: avg CMO tenure down to 44 months from 48 months. first decline in 10 years across the top advertised brands. 30 of the 100 are new this year.

customers demand the best, all the time. always updated, always on, always new.

IT organizations want to be involved ever earlier and are pressured to do more with less too. advent of agile has been a massive push, but agile doesnt mean faster its a methodology of earlier involvement and iteration. not a means to get faster delivery.

FASTER IS NOT JUST FOR CLIENTS

employees want to launch things, and have celebratory moments in seeing things live. want to share them out with friends and family. having things in the rear view mirror is key.

giving employees experiences they cant get elsewhere, and fast, is also key. e.g. our CD in NY in a helicopter first week in NYC for Nike

AKQA Future Academy: new way to expedite ramp up of creative technologist, as well as our hiring processes. talk about the bike.

if time, mention we used to celebrate X Club at 10 years, now doing recognition at 3 and 5 years too.

KEY TAKEAWAYSSprint to a first deliverable

Bring clients into the fray with you

Employ new technologies to expedite delivery

Your employees want to work and progress faster too

Never settle for less than great
