How to optimize Instagram Stories for your business?• If an Instagram user follows your

brand, your Story will appear with a colourful ring on their tab. Hence, it is time to aggressively increase your follower count, so that you can reach as many user feeds as possible.

• Users are now more aware of your presence – that can be both a boon and a curse. Ensure that you do not flood their feed with low-quality and irrelevant content, or your followers can significantly decrease.

Instagram Stories vs. Snapchat Stories:Why it’s better for your business?

Why Snapchat is less brand friendly:No heart icons for people to express their

approval, and harder to follow accounts as users have to know exact names to find

them.

Instagram is much bigger – Nike generated 80,000 views in 24 hours for an Instagram Story, while on Snapchat their

best video got 66,000 views

Brands can restrict their audience on Instagram Stories that is only available as a

paid tool on Snapchat (e.g. Heineken can restrict viewings to 21+

year olds)

Oreo’s Super Bowl Tweet

Oreo took advantage of the 2013 Super Bowl 30-minute blackout by tweeting “You Can Still Dunk In The Dark”. This real-time, witty advertisement won the night and was retweeted 10,000 times in one hour!

How do brands work around legislations such as Rule 40?

Specsavers takes advantage of Olympics blunder!

In the 2012 Olympics, the flag for South Korea was mistakenly displayed for a North Korean match. Specsavers capitalized on this mix-up by displaying an advert in several newspapers showing the South Korean and North Korean flags with the Specsavers slogan “should have gone to Specsavers”.

Paddy Power paid for billboards near Olympics 2012 venue with a cheeky statement!

The Irish bookmaker claimed to be the “Official sponsor of the largest athletics event in London this year!” only to mention in parentheses that they meant an egg-and-spoon race in the town of London in France.
