Advert and Digipak plan 2

Door lightSo just like my first plan I wanted to have a emotion as a theme throughout the images. The previous plan was around pain and anger, however, another emotion shown in my music video was loss and loneliness. Now having those emotions in music is quite common so its makes sense to be a focus for an album. On the other hand I don’t want base the imagery of then digipak and advert around the same look of the music video as its an album not a single, although some digipaks do focus the look around the look of one of their music videos. Loneliness has strong links with sadness, and with colour black and white is the best way to show this. A shadow can also show loneliness and matches the colour perfectly, however another way I could show this would be light trying to seep into a darkened room.

Showing light seeping through the door frames is one that could work for the inner sides as it is the right atmosphere but nothing dire in terms of importance. It can also have dark areas for writing such as lyrics or credits that is commonly found in digipaks.

I want to show a figure in the light of the picture and this figure would be positioned to show that he is lonely. For example, the figure would be crouched down with his back to the door to show that he has no “light” (or happiness) in them. The character would be silhouetted as this wouldn’t reveal anything about the figure to portray this mysterious nature that separates him from everyone else.

Another way to show this figure maybe with him in different stances, such as walking through the door or even sitting on a chair but with his back to the door again. However, with him walking through the door you would lose the leaking light from the sides of the door but you could develop a small story with the 6 tiles as if the door was opening to reveal this figure coming through it.

I do believe that maybe a mixture of the figure in the light that is crouched with his back to the door and shots of the light seeping through the outline of the door would work for a perfect digipak design. For the advert I would have either the door itself or the figure crouched. The text would have to be faded to fit with the design of the whole digpak and advert and would be presented on the door.
