2. What is a Digipak?

As part of the specification we are going to be producing promotional material to go with our music video, this will consist of a magazine cover and a four-sided album cover. 3. Digipack are a type of CD packaging, mostly made out of card or plastic material. They come in various designs, some may house more than one CD, they can flip open like a book or it can have three parts, and so that one portion of the packaging opens to the right and one to the left with the CD positioned in the centre. Usually, the portion of the Digipack that holds the CD is made of plastic like a traditional jewel case CD the plastic part is simply attached to the paper background.

This is a 4 sided Digipack for Beyonces I Am Sasha Fierce album It is paperboard but is held in a plastic case itself. The design is quite simplistic, the 1st front cover panel is an image of herself and 2nd panel it just says Beyonce as seen. Similarly on the 3rd panel written again is Beyonce where the CD is placed on top of, and on the back 4th panel is another image of Beyonce with a list of songs. I think the design fits in very well with her genre of music, being R&B/Pop. The first panel appears to be very naturalistic, showing Beyonce in black on white, on a beach (this image is very common in her music videos) whereas you see more of a glamorous side to her on the last panel, where she is dressed up, wearing more makeup and wearing her iconic glove which is also referred to in many of her music videos.
