NO: PDC/JSMU/2018 DATE May 14, 2018 BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) COURSE AT PDC A one – day Basic Life Support Course for MBBS, BDS and Pharm- D students was held in Skills Lab, PDC JSMU on May 8, 2018. The workshop was designed for upgradation of PDC as recognized AHA training centre for BLS Courses. The BLS Provider Course was designed to train medical students of JSMU to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. FACILITATORS Total course time was 5 hours which included video training as well as final test (written and skills evaluation) and remedial help. The workshop was conducted by; 1. Dr. Rubia Kashif 2. Dr. Saifullah Khalid PARTICIPANTS 11 undergraduate students of JSMU participants in the course: 1. Hamza Sohail 2. Maria Hassan 3. Zainab Rafat 4. Iqra Noushad 5. Farheen Javed 6. Taqveem Ilyas 7. Syed M. Ali Nizami 8. Shireen Khan 9. Uroosa Shadani 10. Mahnoor Jamal 11. Javeria Mukhtiar SOME ENCOURAGING COMMENTS OF THE PARTICIPANTS The JSMU students were very enthusiastic after the course. Some of their comments on the feedback form are as follows: “Presentation was really good, good interactive sessions, really enhanced my knowledge and skills “ “Properly timed and managed, cooperative instructors, practical sessions and examination were effective” “Questions were adequately responded. Students were given proper time for practice” “It was well organized and planned. Adequate time was given to learn each and everything. Teachers were very friendly.” JINNAH SINDH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
