Project Phase-I
Background of Project In the area of welding technology there is a wide field
for studying the effect of process parameters as well as the welding conditions for better quality of welded parts with accuracy.
MIG welding is the most popular arc welding process with a variety of applications, but the process is very complex because it uses consumable electrode so the type of bead produced and the penetration shows lot of variations.
Objective of Project
To study the process parameters of MIG welding on different materials.
To design experiments based on Taguchi method and prepare weld schedule.
To perform experiments and carry out contact and noncontact measurements.
Scope of project
To perform MIG welding experiments using ZUPER ARC 300 m/c available in workshop.
To carry out non-contact measurement using 2-D vision system and vision cameras to be procured in machine vision lab.
