    iii. Facilitating business incubation services with its ultra modern pilot plant for processing of fruits and vegetables, dairy, meat and grain processing.

    iv. Conducting Frontier Area Research for development of the Sector.

    v. Developing world class managerial talent with advanced knowhow in food science andtechnology.

    vi. Providing intellectual backing for regulations which will govern food safety and quality andat the same time foster innovation.

    4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula andcourses, and technology-medicated teaching learning process withevidence of having guided doctoral candidates and researchstudents.

    3 AssistantProfessor

    1. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalentgrade where grading system is practiced at the Masters degree levelin the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalentdegree from an accredited foreign university.

    2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates should

    have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by theUGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

    3. Holders of Ph.D. degrees along with those candidates who areawarded a Ph.D. degree through a process of admission,registration, course work and external evaluation as have been/ maybe laid down by the UGC through its regulations, and so adopted bythe University shall be exempted from NET. NET shall also not berequired for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NETis not conducted.

    Expectations of NIFTEM from the Faculty:

    RESEARCH

    The Faculty is expected to provide academic leadership through

    the conduct of research including, where appropriate, leadership of a large researchteam;

    fostering the research of other groups and individuals both within the discipline andrelated disciplines;

    supervision of the program of study of courses introduced from time to time and majorresearch projects for incubation;

    development of research policy; an ability to promote brand building, through outreach activities leading to tieup withNational and International Institutions;

    continuing personal commitment to, and achievement in, a particular scholarly areaevidenced by publication in refereed journals, books, performances and other scholarlyworks, invitations to present keynote addresses at international meetings and to writechapters in international books, election to learned academies and other recognitionsuch as awards, prizes and honorary degrees.

    The Faculty is expected to demonstrate an outstanding personal contribution and commitmentto high quality teaching and learning through:
