Well, we are highly qualified in our subject area (Martin has got a Masters Degree in Multimedia Design with Distinction). He trains other designers in both web site design and illustration. He also consults for leading businesses in the area. He is also a well known local artist.

WHAT IS DESIGN AND I?

Design and i is a Derby based design studio, headed up by graphic designer and illustrator Martin Hyde. Design and i offer unique, creative graphic design and illustration for web and print, produced using the latest techniques. Our style of design will provide you with unique communications, which will help you stand apart from your competitors.

Design and i have clients throughout the UK and Europe, and have worked with them on a diverse range of web and print projects. Our ability to work across both web and print will provide you with a consistent identity across all mediums.

DESIGN AND I At the start of the logo design process, we first research the client and its competitors. We then create various individual concepts and variations, usually in black and white. These are then shown to the clients and the design is evolved and colour variations are added. Once the logo is complete it is provided in all its variations and in formats for print and web. The finished files are also available to our clients through the Design and i client area which they can access at any time.

After the initial logo and printed items are designed, we then move on to the web site design and other business communications such as this poster above. Whether it is a large scale poster or the cutting edge web sites we build, the brand identity always remains consistent, and above all remains memorable.

Once a neglected inner-city pub, now one of Derby’s most popular and unique destinations. The Greyhound in Derby is a great example of a design and branding project which helps a public-facing business differentiate itself from their competition through the use of high quality graphic design and illustration. The type of design and illustration products created

for this project could also be of great benefit to a wide range of businesses such as public house’s, restaurant’s, farm shop’s, coffee house’s, deli’s, and retail outlet’s who want to create a strong, consistent and memorable experience. This in turn will bring loyalty from their customers and make them stand out from their competition.

Cedar and Co wanted a web site that would really differentiate them from other accountants, and that they could update themselves. They already had a logo design, so we worked with them to develop their web site and build upon their branding.

Cedar and Co were happy with their existing branding, but did not have their logo in a suitable format. So we recreated it and built upon it, adding additional colours and elements.

To enable them to update the site themselves we created a content managed site on the Wordpress platform. This means that Cedar and Co can log in and add new content such as testimonials, quotes & blog posts whenever they want to.

To create a wow factor for Cedar and Co we designed a flash animation of the “bean counter” on front page using character illustrations that are used throughout the site.

This project was the design and build of a content rich, content managed web site for Mark Campbell Motors. We also developed their existing branding. We integrated the web site into the used car sales network, and provided full social networking integration throughout the site.
