S800 I/O is a comprehensive, distributed and modular process I/O system that communicates with parent controllers and PLCs over industry-standard field buses. The S800 supports two pulse counter cards, the DP820 and the DP840. DP820 is a two-channel pulse counting module for incremental pulse transmitters up to 1.5 MHz. Each channel contains counters and registers for position/length and speed/frequency measurement. DP840 has 8 channels and each channel can be configured for pulse count or frequency measurement. The maximum frequency of input signals is 20 kHz and the inputs can also be read as digital input signals. The input signal range for the DP840 is according to the NAMUR standard.
