Parent Teacher Conferences

Help!1. No Toy Rule!
Lots of toys are available. Promotes cooperation and sharing. Can bring toys on some special days: pajama
days, Teddy Bear Tuesday, & when “Star of the Week”
2. Pack Snack and Lunch Separate Makes unpacking easier for your child.
3. Shoelaces Double-knot laces in the morning. Replace shoelaces that won’t stay tied. Consider shoes without laces.

Science and Social Studies integrated throughout the school day.
Lunch• Kindergarteners can buy hot lunch
starting next Monday, September 21st.• Cost:
– Full lunch $2.75– Milk only $0.65

• Snacks– Menu available on-line– Prices vary– Sold at the beginning of lunch– Parents can place restrictions on lunch account
• Examples: No snacks, only buy snacks on Friday, No ice cream
Recess• Students will have outdoor recess everyday unless it
is raining or the wind chill temperature dips below 10 F. ⁰
• Lots of equipment is available for the children to use. Students may not bring toys from home.
• Dress:– Fall: Jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater.– Winter (1st snowfall to April break): Warm jacket,
hat, boots, mittens or gloves, and snow pants.– Spring: Light jacket, sweatshirt, or sweater and
boots (especially if it has rained and/or is muddy). – Label all clothing with your child’s name!
Snacks
• Morning Snack: Children should bring a small snack every day.
• Afternoon Snack: Finish morning snack or it will be provided. Donations are appreciated.
• Healthy snacks only! No cookies, potato chips or candy.
• Visit Palmer Patch web site for snack suggestions.
• Extra snacks are always available. Thanks for the donations!
• Label all water bottles and snack/lunch bags with your child’s N
Birthdays• A short celebration can take place on or near your
child’s birthday or half-birthday at 1:50.• An information note will come home a few weeks prior
to your child’s birthday.• Three ways to celebrate: (Choose 1)
1. Bring a small snack and/or drink. Treats must be store bought or from the cafeteria due to hepatitis guidelines. 2. Play a game of choice.3. Bring small prizes or trinket for each student.
• There are 21 students in our class. (11 girls, 10 boys)• Parents are invited to attend, but are not required to be
there.• Children will bring home a “Birthday Bag” of books to
enjoy with their family at home. They should be returned within a week.
• At-home birthday party invitations may not be given out at school.
Math• Identify and write #s 1-20• Count groups of objects up to 20• Compare quantity of objects use the words
more, less, and equal • Identify and create patterns• Name 2-D & 3-D shapes• Sort & classify objects (color, size, shape)
