1. The CTES College of Architecture aspires to be a Premier Institution in the field of Architectural Education, which will encompass the related disciplines impacting the Built Environment.

2. It will be a Centre for Excellence in imparting Skills, Knowledge and Wisdom to make young Men and Women responsible Professionals in a fast progressing Society. High Standards in Academic pursuits will be strived for, which can be applied in actual practice.

3. There will be a focus on holistic understanding of the habitat needs of all sections of society, through studying the Social, Cultural, Economic and Environmental characteristics.

4. Humane and Sustainable Design will be emphasised keeping in mind the Global view on the Environment as well as Local tradition, Climate, Ecology and Economy. The Curriculum will incorporate various related and relevant subjects that will go beyond the conventional, and offer wide choice.

5. It will provide a platform for dialogue between the various related disciplines and professionals, national and international, as also between professionals and the general public, thus creating greater awareness of the role and importance of the profession. Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, Exhibitions and Conferences will be regularly organised for the benefit of the Students as well as the Community.

6. It will be a centre for research, documentation and dissemination of knowledge of the built Environment. Public Oriented Projects will be taken up by the institute.

7. Set in Chembur, with its History and Culture, the College will engage itself with the community and play a significant role in the development of a vision for the betterment of the citizens.

The CTES College of Architecture in Chembur, Mumbai was established in July 2014 by the Chembur Trombay Education Society. Setting up a College for Professional Studies in the field of Architecture has been an important step taken up by CTES, which was formed in 1978, and has been running a College of Arts, Science and Commerce as well as several other disciplines. IT IS THE ONLY COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE IN THE EASTERN SUBURBS.

CTESCOA offers a five year degree programme of Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), recognized by the Council of Architecture (COA) and the University of Mumbai. The overall course structure is formulated within the framework of the Mumbai University Syllabus. The course is broadly divided into three categories that are interdependent.

Ÿ HISTORY AND THEORYŸ DESIGNŸ TECHNOLOGY

Ÿ ALLIED DESIGN including Interior Design, Landscape Design, Visual Design, Basic Design, Urban Design etc,Ÿ BUILDING MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION

Ÿ PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

Ÿ CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT ETC

The course culminates with a Design Dissertation and a term of practical training. The Final internship program is part of the University course structure. At the end of the internship a viva-voce is conducted by external examiners of University of Mumbai.Apart from the mandatory courses several extra-curricular courses and activities are

offered under ELECTIVES and COLLEGE PROJECTS such as: Ÿ ORIGAMI, Ÿ STREET ART

Periodical ly, Guest lectures are organized, where practitioners from various fields of culture and technology are invited by the college to present their work and discuss with students. So far there have been 14 guest lectures.

Study trips are organized every year for Years 1-4. The study undertaken is then integrated into the design projects. Two study tr ips to Cochin-Bengaluru-Tiruvananthapuram and Ahmedabad-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer-Udaipur were undertaken in December 2015 and January 2016.

ADMISSION TO ARCHITECTURE

Eligibility criteriaŸ Passing with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate in H.S.C. with Mathematics as a

subject. Ÿ For reserved categories 45 %Ÿ NATA – min 40 %Applications may be made after the announcement of H.S.C. result.Admission process will be carried out through MASA CAP rounds.

NATA ExaminationNATA 2016 consists of 2 papers : Total – 200 Marks.Minimum required for passing – 80 Marks.

Paper I – Drawing Test (2 Hours).This is a paper based drawing test, where candidate has to attempt 3 questions.

Paper II – Aesthetic Sensitivity Test (2 Hours).This is a computer based online test where the candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions.
